Beautifully upright, strong and sturdy architecture on Earth Angel! Kords roses excell in that way. I imagine it would require some winter protection in parts of zone 4/5 Canada that are very cold.

May I ask for the name of the tall evergreens behind the hydrangeas and the boxwoods you were trimming at the end? Please, thank you :) Your garden is so inspiring. Also may I ask the planting distance you use between the roses?

Hello Iisha! Your roses are gorgeous. And thank you for also including the plant in your video so we can see, not just the flower, but the whole plant. My question for you is: Do you plant a variety in groups or as a single plant? It is a little hard to determine by watching. Thank you!

Beautiful. Gertrude Jekyll can be grown as short climber. Fragrance and spikes go hand in hand with this rose. I have GJ in 2nd yr, may have to hard prune in Feb to grow as shrub as your GJ. How old is this rose? Any suggestions will be helpful.

Beautiful healthy roses. I have majority of these roses and many more David Austin roses in my garden, here in England. They are all lovely roses. You can also add few more DA roses such as Septer' D isle rose, Eustacia vye, princess Ann rose. Thanks for sharing beautiful roses.
@IsshaGreenThumbing11 күн бұрын
Awesome! My Eustacia Vye is now 2 yr old, so as Evelyn, spirit of freedom, carding mill , alnwick , Charles Darwin, and Emily Brontë Then Vanessa bell and Bathsheba are a yr old as well as Jane’s Galway . I realize I also did not include crown Princess Margaretta in this video. My collection has grown. And I’m trying so much my garden wouldn’t look messy.

Absolutely love Abraham Darby! Year after year, its scent is captivating but not overpowering, the wavey growth habit is so romantic and finally the bloom color and how it gradually changes from opening to spent , just spectacular. It does love my climate for sure! Big blooms for me ❤️

Ive given up on Austin's, too slow to reflower and puny growth in first year. Kordes and Tantau perform way better! With the exception of Gertrude that grows and grows but doesn't flower! Ugh!
@IsshaGreenThumbing3 ай бұрын
Oh sorry about that, it’s hard sometimes to figure out what and how with our roses. My David Austin roses grew so fast and have given me great flushes of blooms since its first year and they get better every year with the exception of crown Princess Margaretta. Very temperamental rise and a stingy bloomer .. Meanwhile Gertrude Jekyll is amazing for me this year!
@kareharpies3 ай бұрын
I love DA and Kordes (and Meilland, Poulsen and Tauntau too). Kordes does best for me but all perform well if treated correctly.
@IsshaGreenThumbing3 ай бұрын
My Koko loco died, My potted bolero almost died too, now earth angel is having a drama, while all DA are thriving! The non DA are problematic so far
@kareharpies3 ай бұрын
Queen of Sweden is the best of David austin tho. You picked a newer more resilient plant. Most of the DA's are so temperamental for the north American climate (which is fine because the founder made english roses for the English garden, not our extreme American climate). And earth angel is more average for a kordes in terms of health. I think they pushed it on the market in spite of that because it was so unique (and justifiably it is the top selling rose on HeirloomRoses and many other rose sites).

Beautiful garden and beautiful rose from a beautiful lady. I always enjoy watching your vedios. My david austin roses are doing great her in Britain weather but always tend to grow tall canes taller than me with a cluster of roses at the end up in the sky . Although I cut it hard after first flush to maintain a round shaped bush, it still pushes very tall canes again! Especially gertrude jackyll rose , lady of shallot emily bronte,QUEEN of sweden and bascobel rose. I dont know why this happened . Buy the way they are planted in the north wall of my house fence. Something else I want to ask you do you grow games Galway rose as a bush rose or a climber?
@IsshaGreenThumbing3 ай бұрын
You are do sweet! Thank you! All those DA roses you mentioned have that shooting star growth habit, with the exception of Boscobel. Boscobel is a nice tidy 4x4 for me, perfect for front yard. Being planted in the north side probably not getting enough sun, your rose will chase it and turn leggy. About James, I am trying to let it grow how ever it want then pegging to have more blooms through laterals. Hope this helps.
