The first time I saw one of your videos I bought 3 roses from Heirloom Roses. If I continue watching them I’ll be broke 😂. Spectacular roses. I love it b

TY so much for the organic treating tips of bugs and insects. Your roses are so healthy & beautiful. I have Abraham and Evelyn but mine are struggling /spindly. Looking forward for more roses videos!

Hi Melissa, Do they get at least 6 hours sun? Did you prune them in the early spring? Hope you are well and your roses.

I'm so confused right now. To my knowledge aphids and whitefly are both sap eating insects that do not eat other insects. The stunted buds that you are showing are caused by white moths, sometimes called cabbage moths. Thrips are the ones that cause all the pink dots on the petals. Wasps and other beneficial insects such as lacewings, can control them if you make it a welcoming place. If I'm wrong about any of this, I'm happy to learn, please refer me to where I can find more information on this. Thank you for showing your garden, it's beautiful as always.

I stand to be corrected about white flies, as you are right how like aphids it does attack the soft tissues of the plants/ buds. White flies does not feed on thrips, I think I made a notation on the video. Thrips just like aphids attacks the plant soft tissue, and it’s effect is not just shown on dots around the other petals, it also distorts the bud formation and if it gets bad Bud tiny growth wouldn’t even make it. It takes experience to notice that the effect of thrips to bud in the beginning stage is very similar to problem caused by aphids and botrytisI happen to know what Problem I was getting because of the infestation, I had little aphids this time.

The bud distraction I showed you is caused by climatic fluctuation here which is not our spring norm. It’s a bull- nosing effect which is followed by the occurrence of proliferation. I only showed an Evelyn case exhibit. But it is present more in my crocus rose and crown princess margaretta, I read random gardening articles made for PNW climate at the top of rose books I inherited from my mother in law..game changer for me! Have a great day,

Could you please tell us a bit about how you treat thrips with cinnamon injection
@IsshaGreenThumbing Жыл бұрын
I mix 2 tsp of cinnamon in a spray bottle with water , shake well. I think cinnamon oil would be a great alternative, because the powder eventually clogs the sprayers hole.

I’m not kidding, I literally saw a thrip quickly died as it got sprayed.

I have some much bullnozing on my Earth Angel 😭 I don’t think I have one single normal bud on the whole first flush

My EA is having trouble too, looks like iron deficiency, it struggled from our cold January winter snap. There’s not much we can do with bullnozing really. I’m sorry!

Hoorah! English roses love our kind of climate which every roses grower should know- a big factor is the success story.
