Now consider this in a gas direct injected... high psi fuel at TDC. I've done the design i could convert a subaru to 2 stroke.. but would need custom cnc billet block/ heads.. if i had the $$ lol

The k20 is excellent for boosted applications. Thicker cylinder walls make them able to handle up around 700whp with mostly stock internals. Hard to beat the extra cubes of the k24 for an NA setup.

Probably it last longer but you’re going to make people not even check it, a healthy modern engine consumes up to 1 quart every 3k miles, push it to 10k miles now you are at about 3 quarts out of the 5 quarts most of the modern cars take

I run a stock Barra G6E turbo. It is a fantastic fast comfortable car and can overtake a semi truck in 5 seconds. Get 8.1 litres per 100 klm. At 110 kmh. The torque is instantly available from 1100 rpm. It punchs you anywhere you want to go with gusto so effortlessly. A delightful powerful car.

If you burn a higher octane fuel in a vehicle requiring just 89!octane you will have carbon developing in the intake system and will eventually have to have your intake system cleaned as carbon in will be builds in and near the pistons chambers.

Low rpm power is absolutely important in almost all engines except drag cars. Back pressure is much more important at low rpm, making drag cars a fairly awful example. Put an engine on a dyno, put a low rpm load on, drag pip vs stock baffles will have a huge difference, regardless of scavenging or anything else.

I have a 08 5.7… it’s kinda a stupid design in that it has 16 spark plugs. But only 8 coils.. so it’s not a back up like in real racing hemisphere. Just a waste of money& time for consumers..

Watch powerstrokehelp and they will explain how cost cutting ruined this engine in addition with emissions controls. It's more than just emissions controls. The 6.4 is one of the worst diesel engines built. I don't care what anybody else says.

My buddy turned me on to this motor. He had a 2005 Chevy trail blazer. That he bought brand new and it had over 300000 miles on it. He took me for a ride 1 day and I was blown away on how fast I asked him what kind of VAD. Ad. He said it was a 6 cylinder. Not much later I ran into a little bit of money to buy the old lady a car and I come across this two thousand and seven Isuzu accender it only. Had 60000 miles on it. Perfect condition, so I bought it. We didn't have a red line on the attack ometer, so doing some investigation. I read this little motor as 292 horsepower the highest class. Rating of motor. You can get. I absolutely fell in love with this truck. Funny to say but not too many people on the road with a stock car that's gonna take me. I change the oil religiously every three thousand miles now approaching close 2 3 hundred thousand myself this truck runs as good as the day I bought it

The VH41 also has double row timing chain whereas the 45 has a single. Because of the heads being different the 41 has slightly higher compression than the 45. For me the 41 is better, I have one in a Nissan Navara ute with a 300zx gearbox and Nissan Torrano (LSD) diff. The factory exhausts are very limiting so with extractors and better air intake power gains are very noticeable

JCB have already got their hydrogen combustion engines coming off their production line. they use hydrogen because electric isn't viable for heavy machines mainly because of weight and range not access to charging.the JCB heavy machinery is already certified in the uk and europe. there have been large hydrogen fields discovered in france and australia this year because people have started seriously looking for them . if you watch harry's garage go and watch harry's farm he's been periodically visiting JCB for a couple of years and just released a new one.

Nice Video, but i call bullshit on your reasoning, why the 2 stroke diesel was phase out. A 2 stroke Diesel, contrary to 2 stroke petrol engines, don't blow unburned fuel out the exhaust, as a dieselengine injects fuel at the compression stage and scavenges the cylinder with pure air. The only concern is the ammount of burnt fuel and oil and at least fuel consumption was compensated by using turbochargers and reducing rpm. Even the emissions were brought down to competetiv levels. The only real reason for detroit to abandon the 2 stroke is the fact, that they were bought by the german company MTU. MTU, at the time, was one of the biggest 4 stroke diesel manufacturers. Technically speaking, a diesel uniflow 2 stroke is effectively the most efficient piston engine to date.

I'm a mechanic, but not a diesel mechanic. I'm thinking about buying an '08 F350 from my relatives, hooking up to a gooseneck livestock trailer with additional load and bringing it back home 750 miles away. Reading this makes me nervous. My brother in law spring $9k on repairs maybe 2 thousand miles ago, he had a stroke recently so I'm trying to liquidate some of my sister's assets. If someone can please tell me what to look for before I make this trip. Thanks in advance.

I've seen countless videos of 2.4 Ecotec failures, but nobody seems to realize 99% of people who have them don't check or even change the oil when you are supposed to which stretches the chain, causes major damage, and they keep driving them into the ground. The 2.4 does much better (I have a Verano with the 2.4) in the lighter sedans and is pretty stressed out in the Equinox and the GMC Terrain. At the end of the day it's usually lack of checking the oil level and doing the oil changes before the oil life indicator tells you to.

LB7 literally smashes the 7.3 in every single department. My stepdad bought a 99 F350 about 10 years ago with 87,000. I don't remember what exactly but somehow someone installed the valve cover on top of a harness and the engine was Junked...a valve cover leak totalled the 7.3...the next engine lasted almost 1000 miles until it sucked the turbine into the engine😂

I bought my 2001 F250 new. I still have it today, with 179K miles. In fact, we bought a 2024 6.7 because new trucks ride so much better. We decided to keep the old truck. It's not worth much anyway. And, it's kind of like a member of the family.
