Gamestop doesn't have to have any knowledge. They just need to know how to pack the cards. i know it was on the screen but you didn't mention you can grade with psa no minimum for $24.99 no membership. The cost of insured shipping through psa. Gamestop is cheap at $15.99 with no fees. Middle men charge fees are that's out

Nice video but quick fact check: GameStop is not bankrupt nor close to it. $4,800,000,000 cash on hand.

Hey man love your message in the beginning of your videos but a few things to consider 1) there are scummy lgs out there who do pretty shady stuff 2) the net positive of buying graded is one play but I think the bigger play is more pro members that subscription can be restructured down the line and be extremely profitable 3) it’s likely GameStop has an even better rate then us consumers 4) I’d almost rather them not know about my tcg they aren’t pregrading so that point doesn’t really matter they are following a process … time will tell but this take does seem a bit biased

So PSA charges you $24.99 per card(unless you send in 20 cards), also a membership fee, out-of pocket shipping fee, you have to package and ship yourself and trust a random (overworked) UPS, USPS worker to handle your cards vs $15.99 per card, GameStop handles the logistics, free shipping for pro members, upcharge is from PSA, not Gamestop, and gives you 15% more value for the card IF you wish to trade in for cash or store credit?
@DrApplesauceTwo
@DrApplesauceTwo Сағат бұрын
You can’t really compare the $25 price point, that’s a whole different tier and processing time that GameStop’s not offering. Have to compare from the same level, the cheapest $45 tier.
@Sandola.

@@DrApplesauceTwo GameStop is offering the PSA Collectors Club bulk tier for just $1 more and without the 20-card minimum, which I think is worth it for the average person who doesn't have 20 cards to send in.

Are they offering insurance to cover theft or shipping issues? The deal isn’t bad for those that don’t submit many cards. I would not trust them with even a $100 raw card though.

Nope, pay attention. There are already many companies, WHO KNOW WHAT THEYRE DOING, who have been doing this well. GameStop is throwing their corporate big wig weight around and doing this at almost a net loss, to try and buy the market. I’ll never support that. People cry and scream when flippers do the exact same thing trying to buy up all of a specific product, but support a giant corporation when they try to do the same thing.

Assuming all stores handle things the same, I'd think it's a good idea to submit thru a bigger company like Gamestop. You saved shipping, and does not have to worry about the minimum quantity limit. Big win for smaller collectors.

- No minimum lot size. - Don't need to pay / worry about shipping. - No need for a grading membership. You dont need to reinvent the wheel, just slightly improve it. I think this is a good move for GameStop

And how many cards are you shipping? How many are going to be over $200 and incur additional fees? Ever thought about how GameStop doesn’t say anything about insurance? Thst $75 fee to PSA also includes insurance. There’s nuance to all of it, but hey, feel free to bravely sit behind your keyboard and make fun of me, I’m an easy target it doesn’t bother me

2nd comment. I just watched the entire video. For those who don't have a psa membership, it's $149 a year. Also, shipping will be at least $10 on small card submissions, up to $30 depending on how many cards your sending. You pay $15 per card through psa and $16 at gamestop. However, u don't pay for shipping, and u don't need a $150 membership. That alone = more savings than doing it yourself, and going to a LCS that charges up to $30 total a card, which is nutty! 😂 The only issue I see is teenage Tyrone and teenage Todd handling my cards. When I submit to Gamestopz I want my cards sealed in a box and protected. When I leave, these guys can replece my cards with theirs, they can steal them, stomp on them, use them as frisbees as a fun noree joke, and pretty much do whatever they want. Then 45 days later, all the cards I sent I'm sure were 9's/10's come back 5/6's.. 😂 I'd be seeing red bc I'm one of those ppl who will literally video record and take pics of all my cards front and back before submitting. Any damage will be compensated or else. Who will pay for the dmg's and surprisingly low grades if thos happens? Who takes the blame? This is something Gamestop hasn't thought of. They need a pro TCG rep there. One person handling your cards. That same person listing your cards and packaging them right in front of you. Then locking them up in some fort fk'n knox safe! 😂 That's what I wanna see!

This will hurt local card shops ALOT! They charge up to $30 to send your cards out for grading. This also allows them to take the profits and send their own cards out practically for free. I have a few friends who own card shops that have been doing this for years. Would I trust them or gamestop more with my cards? Well that's a topic for another day. Personally though, this is cheaper than doing it yourself. But, I dunno if I'm comfortable trusting teenage Johnny with my cards. Guess it's a wait and see kind of thing.

@@DrApplesauceTwo shipping a single card to PSA without a membership ID $24.99 plus the cheapest shipping is like $10 (small flat rate box) one way so that's $20 for shipping. So in total it would cost $45 to grade 1 card. Middle man example? You can find someone you trust and it will cost around $17-$20 but you will also need to pay shipping both ways. For folks that already happen to have a gamestop membership it will be $16 with free shipping is my understanding. That is the savings I am referring to 🤷‍♂️

I’m gonna give it a try in a few months. I’m a GameStop pro member. Not a PSA member. I only have like 8 cards I’ve wanted to grade. Using GameStop makes the most financial sense from a price-per-card and shipping perspective. But your points are very valid about entrusting your cards with untrained employees.

The sad thing is that law enforcement and the justice system do not always see cards undee the same value as collectors so the crime can be dealt with in various ways. Sure a thief may get arrested and such but now despite the card being $1,000 is it grand theft or just theft? Sometimes the thief may just get a slap on the wrist and nothing really happens, it sucks but that's how it is. It's a card, not a Rolex which to the Justice system is more recognizable as jewelry.

Would of been better to take the stance that all mystery boxes aren’t scams instead of saying none of them are because their 100% are some that are scamming people either by not having any valuable cards in them at all or just straight up lying about the chances of their being something in them. Of course some companies and individuals are legitimate and it really is random shit good and bad
