So, I just found your channel and was interested in a couple of techniques you used in tying the Zebra Midge. I don't recall ever seeing anyone else triple wrap the wire around the hook before wrapping it forward toward the bead. The other thing I liked was how you tapered behind the bead, rather than the entire length. Thanks

troutbum61 The triple wrap is almost like a hotspot, and to some extent on this pattern can represent trapped gasses. When you get to red wire wraps on green or black patterns, it's not a bad option to add the few wraps at the tail as a lot of chironomids will have some residual haemoglobin in the tail that is worth imitating, and this is a quick and easy way to do so.
