I’m with you that the dx remaster is “butchered”, but it’s still a fairly good entry point for those who don’t know any better. Besides, the OG’s been rereleased on modern systems and it’s not going anywhere, right? Personally, I’d like to think of the dx remaster’s as the easy mode and the uncut original as the hard mode.

Tbf it only affects bigger game dev companies. Lots of mid to smaller ones including indie doesnt have any censors. Some of them even goes above and beyond that it basically borderline porn or considered as one even though its basically a fanservices. But of course lots of them are untranslated or from community someone fan translate decently or pure MTL'ed it which is better than nothing. If you can at least read or understands japanese, it is usually preferable to play thr og version (cause most of the time it is uncensored or at most has pixel blur and not removed)

@@和也兄貴 dragon quest though. its the most popular game franchise in japan and westerners were still able to defile it, no respect even after toriyama's death, the japanese have gone soft and bent the knee like dogs. its sad to see.
