Incredible. What an unbelievably underrated profound paradigm shifting concepts. There are few concepts that give me paradigm shift and this is one of them. It drills deeper into the core roots of becoming a proactive person. It also challenges some spiritual ideas I have which is interesting

I have a followup question: What if I look at nature or nature videos on my computer? Does that provide the same benefits as seeing nature in the real world? Thanks!

There is research stating that the effect is not as large as in nature itself, but it’s still observable Even if it’s 10 or 5 min videos of nature scenes they still facilitate cognitive functions and stress reduction I’d even say more, some researches find effect of pure picture observation or additional plants in a classroom And there is also variant with VR experience which is also found to be pretty effective, unless you suffer from cyber sickness

1. Focus on what you can control 2. Have a bias for small choices that provide quick feedback 3. Have a bias for choices that reinforce your sense of control 4. Take responsibility for everything that happens in your life 5. Develop your decision making and problem-solving skills 6. Model people with an internal locus of control 7. Create an implementation intention for particularly challenging situations - Develop mindfulness - A response is different from a reaction 1. Remember that everything is a choice 2. When you react to something, ask yourself a set of questions 3. Identify what you can do that will improve the situation 4. Remember that no one can make you think or feel anything 5. Notice how you talk to yourself when you're uncomfortable or happy 6. Celebrate situations where you were able to influence an outcome

Saying I'm excited Outloud would draw attention towards you, making you more anxious... it's probably best to say it to yourself quietly in a way that you will believe

I'm very curious how pluralistic ignorance can be further imbedded through gaslighting to make people believe they want or like things even if they really don't through social norms. It appears like a lot of society suffers from this very thing.
@JohnStoneVector

that is pretty accurate I feel like we see this in people making others believe they want this thing by gaslighting Or even with the big lie strategy, repeating a a big lie that most will believe without searching and repeating it until it feels like true. People use this in many ways, either to get someone to like them or be with them, or a company's negative advertising strategies, or even as propaganda. I bet most of the big entities that use this to their advantage study physiological attributes as these and use it to their advantage. Or just skills they learned overtime. overall I think it is embedded in many things we can observe and especially on your point.

Thanks tremendously for sharing this technic! I guess people like me who suffer from emotional dysregulation will benefit a lot from coherent breathing as it helps to improve our HRV and resilience against negative emotions.

This strategy has to be coupled with a reward system.. while you are training your brain you should be thinking about the reward you'll give yourself for following through. Then once your mental triggers have alerted you the reward has to be given, otherwise it won't focus on performing that task again as easily. We're actually more set up to be alerted of dangers, but I don't recommend punishing yourself..
