These didn’t come with a lockup converter so the speedo and actual speed vary slightly ,I believe it can be 7 mph in difference. An offering of a differential can be found in a parts car from a w126 ,82-85 , It will bolt up to the car with a yolk swap from your original , the 2nd generation it’s mounts are non mountable , the 2.47 diff would bring the top speed up but the take off will be slower . A manual and auto would benefit on the highway but the clutch benefits with working around the shift points , my 4 spd w123 300dt euro spec with a 3.46 differential seems over worked at 65 mph but a great townie car

@@treeabroad They were around 400BHP when launched but were tweaked over the next few years to around 600BHP. They were something like 200BHP more powerful than anything else on the track at high RPM but were unreliable and had low power at low RPM

Yes it has around 600 hp, it doesn't look fast but that's due to the slim tyres. You have to be very careful at launch because there's no traction whatsoever.
