As a biker myself, the biker should be prepared for a child with no sense whatsoever. And the pedestrian should be prepared for any kind of idiot on a bike.... If either had exercised this nothing bad would have happened. Driving is a cooperative, "team", activity. Not oppositional.

What frustrates me is that we seem to have a very good system to catch people out who have a momentarily lapse of concentration, do 35 in a 30 and they are bang to rights. But those who drive recklessly, dangerously, use phones etc etc are still able to go relatively unchecked because that requires man power and/or new technology which costs money. I was running yesterday and running past a queue of traffic counted 8 people obviously on phones. We have to have speed limits or it would be the wild west out there but we need to have far more focus on more dangerous driving habits than we actually do

Why do people find it so hard to stick to simple rules. If you want to break the law then be prepared to pay the fine. If i broke into your house and took something you would expect me to be punished according to the law. Whats the difference?

Normal law abiding people have wouldn’t be in that situation in the first place and if they were wouldn’t have nothing to hide, the police do a great job in this country, under extreme provocation, if you don’t like it leave, go to USA or Europe they don’t ask twice there, they demand backed up with a gun.

Motorcyclist eye line is lower than the cam angle, I think the silver car would obscure view of the pedestrian. Motorcyclist should have been more observant before filtering and expect the unexpected.

In my opinion the motorcyclist was filtering too fast for the conditions, however the pedestrian isn't blameless as they walked out without looking. I'm reminded of a collision that happened outside the hospital when I lived on the Isle of Wight, a nurse got run over by a motorbike on the crossing, what happened was both the nurse and a motorcyclist saw the lights start to change and thought they could beat the cars with the inevitable result

This is why the courts are not having serious cases judged because peoples feelings come before proper crimes. he called me a name and it hurt my feelings I’m going to sue.

The forcing their way in front is very common, and they're worse when the vehicle in the live lane is an HGV, where it seems merge in turn means 3, 4 or 5 cars think they're entitled to blast up the side and be allowed in to that one space left, and they're obvious that's what the plan is, no looking to see if there's room or not just expect to be let in, and yes I am an HGV driver, and car and motorbike.

In the town where I livei, we have a large influx of lorry drivers that arrive every evening. They all enjoy the safe parkinig, cheap beer and friendly women. At the end of the night they all return to thier lorries to sleep. In the morning they all drive off in mass. How does the law affect this situation?

Some folk seem to treat it like a queue for a cashier or similar, where a second queue forming on the right would be unacceptable. It's more akin to there being several clearly marked queues (lanes) and then politely taking it in turn to go up to cashier. It's your fault if you choose the longer queue! I'm surprised we haven't put 'enter merge' traffic lights. Or perhaps there should be a 'match speed, no passing' section before the merge. That'd really up the stress levels. But it is still esp. damn annoying when a Barge My Way jumps the queue and pushes in!!!😂

My father years ago, went into a Wicks DIY store in Leeds. He bought several items but had put a paint-brush in his pocket whilst walking around the store which he forgot to pay for. He was stopped outside the store, the police were called, he was charged with shoplifting even though he explained he had just forgot about this low cost item. He had just paid for everything else and offered there and then to pay for it. But no the store made no exceptions and the police could not persauds them other wise. My father waited 6 months to go to court and had all this stress hanging over him. When his day arrived the judge threw the case out and commented how appalling it was that he was charged and that it had arrived in front of him in court. As for Wicks i don't think they exist any longer but what a set of see you next tuesdays.

My area in Hampshire started using merge in turn two lanes to one which courses left lane people to be longer than right lane . It sone time for drivers to except that right lane drivers could jump the que , well as they saw it . They have signs now .

This is an absolute no brainer. The motorcyclist is at fault. Too fast for the conditions filtering through stationary traffic at 20mph is way too fast!! Also as soon as a pedestrian is in the road they have right of way as well as points associated with the traffic hierarchy of who essentially has more responsibility. There has already been a high profile case very much like this where a cyclist knocked over (and sadly killed) a pedestrian who walked out between parked cars looking at her phone. He is now in prison.

Cashless is so much easier, and also reduces incidents of theft.
