I am King main, at Tekken God right now, switching to Kuma first felt very fresh and fun. But once i got to Raijin/Kishin it really shows all his flaws. His sidestep is almost nonexistant, his startup frames for most moves ar super slow, his hitbox is huge. And once you are laying down face up to the opponent its ridiculously hard to get back up facing him without getting a full oki combo to his ass. Very hard to play, and sweating on blue ranks as much as im sweating with king on golds. King is so versatile, even when backturned he can be deadly and evasive with a jaguar step, Kuma in comparison is very clunky. I am so frustrated in the situations where i can launch opponents with King, i can’t seem to think of optimal ways to launch opponents with Kuma. A perfect example would be punishing Laws slide with ws4, and doing, df4,3, b1,2. Kumas punish seems lackluster? Ws4, df2,1, b1 with no way to reach a wall. Going over specific situations against other characters would be great in the next video, because fighting characters like Law and Kazuya feels like torture

Seriously, thank you so much for this video. I had been bouncing around TK and Bushin for a while as Kuma, and after a week or two of feeling bad about my gameplay with friends I focus on Shaheen for like 2 months. While I do like Shaheen, this video helped me think about my Kuma game and how to better use his specific tools. I watched this, and came at him with a fresh mind. I just got Tekken Emperor for the first time last night! Editing on the transitions was great, and the video was funny as well. Glad to see such great stuff put out by fellow bear mains 🙂

What's wrong with the stances?

I agree there are too many stance characters but it isn’t absolutely everyone: Paul has sway but as far as I’m aware he’s always had that and it’s not his main tool so I wouldn’t call him a stance character, Kazuya, Bryan, Claudio, Asuka, Nina (still too little but just saying)
