Very sorry to have learned (from the comments below) that Paddy Fitz has gone to his eternal rest. He lives on in the heart and soul of his music which this series of videos - shot at the Corkman Pub, Carlton Melbourne - makes manifest. So far away and yet so near. Go ndéana Dia grasta ar a anam dílis.

Who's the bloke on the tenor banjo? Do you have more videos featuring him? Furiously taking notes....

Great playing, beautiful tempo. I think I've seen other clips of some of these fellas where they play far too fast but this is lovely.

Absolutely beautiful. I am learning this on the box in exactly the same timing and may launch into it one session night

This song got a great Australia sound to it, reminds me of something but I just can't remember right now. Well done boys, sounds great.

Brilliant musicians one and all. It's a terrible shame that Johnny Fitzgerald, the banjo player, is no longer with us. RIP Johnny.

Notice that the fiddle is played left handed, tricky as you cannot string a fiddle the other way round.

Johnny is brilliant on the banjo. My grandad played the banjo and might I add, he played it very well. However, Johnny is one of the best banjo players I ever heard. It's a shame that he is no longer with us. RIP John Fitzgerald. You are sadly missed but your banjo playing will live on forever.
