Thanks for the video. If I get the super deluxe edition, and then I buy the expansion expansion cards going to be different? As I assume the deluxe version has higher quality cards and then maybe you would be able to tell the two apart.

Also, 5 reasons it's the worst game of all time. It's stupid. The artwork is ass. The mechanics are terrible. The box looks bad. And it's too complex.

I'm sure it is the best 2 player game. Too bad it's too fucking complicated to play. You'd have to be Issac Newton in order to play this shit.
@TheBoardMeeting5 күн бұрын
@@MyaDimitre Well how complex a game is is completely subjective from person to person. I feel like in the grand scheme of all the games I've personally played, this definitely falls on the lighter side of complexity.

1. Combat is great. However, there should be other possible goals such as finding an artifact or magical item and escaping with it or escaping from a prison or dungeon. This obviously could also involve fighting. 2. Power up items could be scattered across the board similar to how they appear in video games. Perhaps Ernest from a Jim Verney movie gets powers from an electrical socket. Maybe Popeye gets stronger from finding spinach. (Just off the top of my head.) 3. Characters I'd like to see are Carrie White from the Stephen King movie, Anthony Freemont from the Twilight Zone, Don Quixote, Lara Croft and Indiana Jones. Maybe even Jesse James (either historical or from the Twilight Zone).

Of the ones you mention, Avatar: TLA would be great, and I would love to have. Also, I would like to add a second samurai set, after Sun's Origin, allowing to recreate the duel between legendary swordmen Sasaki Kojiro and Miyamoto Musashi. Maybe, instead, a new mix-and-match set with several duelists from all over the world and history. A samurai duelist, a wild west gunslinger, a rapier fencer... with their abilities representing the strengths of each

I enjoyed that play through. The only thing out of place is that you're supposed to have your cards in hand face down. You get a preview by drawing from the face-up draw pile. But the rules are explicit that the three cards in hand are face down (which increases the difficulty slightly).
I just got cult of chrome and the promo pack. Looking forward to the new camps oh yeah.

Reading the comments 😂 no one answered your question..just agreed with you..SAD. To answer your question, because their games have a low player engagement. I own a number of them, but they are not the hat you bring to the table if you want to have a great game night. Jamey by his own admissions has a thing against his play testers, he believes they are wrong and he’s right. Jamey’s is fantastic at hype but the games never reach the level he made them out to be. He doesn’t give other credit, and in fact has even badmouthed his cofounder Alan Stone in an interview with Gabe at BGDL. He wouldn’t have a company what it is if it wasn’t for everyone else around him, he’s not that smart. The thing Id ask you, why do a video if your only opinion is “I don’t understand?” That puzzles me..

Last night I unsubscribed from 100 boardgame channels. And am stopping buying - on 1 October 2023 I started in this hobby and have spent thousands. So on 1 October 2024 the buying stops. Wondering how you got on will check for follow up videos.

@@wiblick I pretty much have completely stopped buying games. A few kickstarters roll in from time to time tho. Also, whenever friends come over for games, I tell them to treat my collection like a shop and they can ask if I wanna sell any of my games. If I haven't played that game in over a year, I almost always say yes to selling it.

This is my exact dilemma at the moment, 1 year into hobby I own far too many games that I bought on the hype and before I figured out what games I like best, so many of them are unplayed and I need to work my way through them. I’m pretty terrible with rules so I figure at least 2 plays don’t count as I learn those…. and then I think I’d need at least 2 other plays to make a decision over theme/mechanics…

i Can recommend Ivion. a lot of similarities with unmatched (ecg, cardbattler, grid movement)
@JBearwa4 ай бұрын
This explanation is combined with a couple peoples thoughts from the board game geek forum hope it helps. 1) The moment the runes have been matched and Cthulhu has been lured to the Void space, the Cthulhu figure is permanently removed from the game. The R'lyeh mat appears, existing as a "space" connected to the Void that can be moved into (or out of) for 1 move action. 2) Cthulhu is now immobile and will no longer perform any kind of movement triggered by a Monster Card. Cthulhu will however still resolve its Monster Card attacks on anyone in R'lyeh, potentially damaging them with hit symbols on attack dice. As mentioned, other Monsters will also be able to move into R'lyeh to attack Heroes. 3) When a Hero is on the R'lyeh space, they can bind Cthulhu with 1 manacle by discarding a number of matching-colored items that meet or exceed the power of Cthulhu's Special Item. If Cthulhu's Special Item is a green item of power 5, a Hero can for example discard [blue 3 + blue 2], or [purple 3 + purple 1 + purple 2], or [green 6]. The rules specify that the "type (and by implication, the color) of Cthulhu's Special Item does not matter" at this juncture. As long as you discard a handful of items that all match each other in color, they do not have to be the same color as Cthulhu's Special Item. Be aware that each separate item discarded will require a separate Advance action. The aforementioned examples would require 2 Advance actions, 3 Advance actions, and 1 Advance action respectively. There also seems to be an implication that the series of items must all be played within a single player turn, in order to earn a manacle (?) 4) If the required value of items is successfully discarded as described above, then the Hero (who is already in R'lyeh) is moved specifically to one of the 3 circular areas surrounding Cthulhu's Special Item - if a Hero discarded 2 blue items, you would move them to the blue circular area. You can then place 1 manacle on Cthulhu. Nothing in the rulebook suggests that you're stuck on these circular areas, so I assume a Hero can freely move off of a circular area by using 1 Move action (the same action of which would essentially move the Hero out of R'lyeh and back onto the Void space). 5) While on 1 of these 3 circular areas, Heroes will specifically be susceptible to Cthulhu's Power Symbol (!), whenever Cthulhu rolls a (!) result during an attack. The symbol will deal 1 damage to each Hero standing in the colored area matching Cthulhu’s Special Item. If Cthulhu's Special Item is purple, and there are 3 Heroes standing on the purple area, then each will take 1 damage (blockable only with an item whose color matches Cthulhu's Special Item). After resolving this (!) result, replace Cthulhu's Special Item with a new random one from the item bag, and then resolve any additional (!) dice in the same fashion, replacing Cthulhu's Special Item after each resolution of (!). Effectively, Cthulhu's Power Symbol (!) will alter the characteristics of Cthulhu's Special Item, changing its power value and/or its color (the latter of which will affect which circular areas are targeted by subsequent Power Symbols (!). 6) After all 4 manacles are placed, my interpretation is that every Hero must move into R'lyeh. Then each Hero must contribute 1 item (of any color or power). This team contribution would be resolved with a single Share action 7) discard those gathered items to defeat Cthulhu Ex: If you have a 5 item in the center, to lock an arm you need all of any one color, let’s say that’s purple then play purple 5+ with one action. Or a purple 3 and a purple 2+ for the second action to lock the arm on your turn. Once locked you then go stand in the purple spot. You could have more than one character in any of the colored areas. I believe this means, you can move off the color by leaving the room or you can discard a different color number(s), equivalent of the center item. Remembering the rule, per lock if you discard more than one item to equal+ the center number, you must have actions equal to the number of items discarded then move to that color. IE: a purple 1 and a purple 3 and a purple 2 would be three actions to equal the purple 6 in the center.

I won't advise others what to do, as what works for me might not work for them, but I consolidated everything the best at I can. Initially, I kept unused boxes. But, as my collection got bigger and I had no room for what I needed, I got rid of everything I didn't need (empty boxes). Thus far, I haven't regretted it. Others might, though.
@jimalexander6874 ай бұрын
I have just under 150 games. But I only count base games -- not variations and/or expansions. For example, I have everything there is for Star Wars Imperial Assault. I count that as one game, not dozens of games. There are many games for which I similarly have a ton of stuff. 14 boxes of Dominion. I count that as one game. And so on. I consolidate where possible (in most cases), but for some games I find it easier to keep them in separate boxes because I have so much (Dominion, Cosmic Encounter, Combat Commander, Armada, X-Wing, Imperial Assault, Warfighter, Galaxy Defenders, Carcassonne, etc.). I moved a dozen (or so) times throughout my life, but not once since I started getting all of these games. The logistics of a normal move is horrific (more so the older one gets); the logistics of moving my board game collection would be mind-numbing. And, until you mentioned it, I hadn't even considered moving my one (and only) board game shelving unit. Putting it together was a nightmare. I can't imagine disassembling it and having to do that again. (Moving it in one piece wouldn't be smart. I'm certain it would warp or break.)

Enjoyed this! I am a Marvel Champions player but Untied has been catching my attention… I’m worried that if I want it all though, is it locked behind Kickstarter exclusives?? I agree with Champions set up (and play) time gets too long for some seasons of life. But I don’t feel like the extra content makes me play less since it’s just options.

It definitely has a thing where the game kinda unexpectedly blossoms the more you play it. The system is very simple, and really feels like it at first blush, but for some reason as you play more and more of it the cooler it seems to become. And the new wave of boxes coming to retail finally means there will be a very wide breadth of content available to people beyond those who backed on kickstarter.
