Bro... it's PIE-well. That's the sign for Pi, not an "n" lol. Edit: Oh you corrected yourself later lol 2nd Edit: I agree about the reaction Zonds. I was just tinkering with vNomads, and I concluded that a Tbolt reaction zond was almost required for any list I build. That's not to say it's an auto-include for everyone, but it does have a lot of synergy with Nomads.

I always have to catch myself on Piwell! Zoe and Noel just had such a nice mouthfeel… I’ve played with the thunderbolt TR quite a lot and I think they reach stable status in quite a few of the armies I’ve played. They’ve proved to be very strong and great time wasters for a very low buy in. Also have quite a lot of available synergies with torrent engineers and EVO bots. I’ve found vNomads, Corregidor, MO, and all the mercs to really like them, and that’s just from the factions I’ve played

I agree that it isn't as spicy as the k1 sniper But the Chain of command Hawkwood is a 0swc B6 specialist if he has a fuselier with him, and can go into suppressive fire with b4, with mim-3. I dont know what the perfect use case is for it yet but I think it's being slept on a little. Seems like a fun assault piece if youre running low on swc

I think the character+bounty Hunter duos are pretty huge in Tunguska, but haven't had the reps to test it yet. On that note the Perseus Stempler Nyemnik duo seems like a fun way to make smoke and move a repeater around. Looking forward to playing some games with them!
@InfinityDante22 күн бұрын
I’ve had a chance to get a Miranda bounty hunter duo on the table and it did really good work. Took Maranda and the Akrylite-Kanone bounty hunter as defensive pieces where I stool Miranda up first and then the bounty hunter after she died, locked up a sight like and wasted a ton of my opponents orders! You could even do the other way around with someone like wolfgang where the bounty hunter is up as a cheap defense but I agree there is a lot at play with those duos! Perseus is pretty amazing with his native BS attack +1 burst making his smoke super reliable and he’s also a monster up close. Could definitely see a haris of percy, stempler, and Miranda or a Grenzer for a gun to top it off!

Excellent video. Corregidor is defnitely a good exemple of a faction that mostly focuses on "Which lt option is the least likely to die in the context of my list", with a dash of "what is he giving link bonuses to". Anarcho Communists don't have the greatest leadership structure , but they do offer mutual support heh. If I were to add anything to the video, it would just be a small addendum to when you give faction-specific advice about how the analysis changes on different game tiers. Like 150 pts games have much different consequences for LoL (everyone is roughly able to do something with their irregular orders) and what qualifies as a good brawler can be radically different.

Yeah I’d say I end up taking units like Scarface and was quite high on him in the video as he can genuinely be one of the new ways to fill a lists points depending on how you build your list! It’s a very unique list building experience where your slots are your most valuable resource, not points or SWC!
@RattlerNxt24 күн бұрын
Australian meta is too small to be a decent representation for global infinity. The States had not relied on it for the entire edition, whether through good defense or an active decision among our significant community that it was a less fun interaction. I think it’s easy for Aussie podcasters to claim some advanced knowledge but the size of the American meta and European dwarfs it and while the Aussie experience may provide anecdotal information, it’s just only a data point globally.
@RattlerNxt24 күн бұрын
Why are you fixated on linkable Combat remotes? I’ve seen that in a number of your videos. They don’t do more damage, they just May give you an additional hit. Solo fast moving attack pieces are great. The Lu Duan is really good with the Emitter and the Ru Shi is a tough choice for loadout. In addition, you have 2 very good AD troops and can protect against other AD.
@InfinityDante24 күн бұрын
With the linked missile bots the extra die is mathematically very valuable in making that missile land, equating to a 20% increase in likelihood to win the FTF. Considering that the cost of your opponent winning that FTF against a missile is now much higher now that they will need to be re-spotlit, I think it’s very valuable to note and something unique to the factions who can link one. With more general remotes, being able to give them marksmanship makes them have some of the higher potential in a game where the general BS skill has been lowered due to link team changes meaning that a supported remote is potentially one of your better options. Always better to be pulling around a specialist as well regarding linking!

@InfinityDante24 күн бұрын
There are lots of interesting LT choices outside of Corregidor! Best of luck and thanks for watching!
@quietprofessional455724 күн бұрын
@InfinityDante for vNomads there is a selection. A couple of brawlers, but mostly cheap LT's. The Mobile Brigada and Interventor as synergies, but not much else. The Kriza and Taskmaster are the brawlers and the Kulak Payback Unit has CoC to back them up. Otherwise, nothing special. I think Nomads are better off having a cheap Lt and spend the points and SWC on useful troopers. Lore wise, Nomads are not meant to have solid command and control. They are more ad hoc in their command structure.
@InfinityDante24 күн бұрын
Yeah I’m planning on doing an initial reaction to vanilla soon and a moderator or interventor is probably just the correct choice. I think you’re on the money with your analysis where the points spent on the brawlers and chain of command is probably better spent

I find the consequences are too heavy in losing the LT. the lore always mentioned the troops have communications between each other. Units also have a chain of command, so the next person just takes over. Solders don’t cry like babies like movie’s sometimes show. The consequences could be loss of the LT order and NCO for the next active turn.
@InfinityDante25 күн бұрын
Yeah it can be a bit mismatched lore wise but gameplay wise I think it’s a pretty genius mechanic. Do you find the consequence too large gameplay wise or just in a lore sense? How often do you think you go into loss of lieutenant?
@adambarlev899225 күн бұрын
I think it's a brilliant mechanic. Compared to 40k where killing the warlord means nothing, it's such a dramatic consequence that it gives the whole game a tension that keeps me engaged.
@paulmualdeave506325 күн бұрын
@ Good opinion too
@sebbychou23 күн бұрын
The main consequence is it breaks the links. Your command tokens are a good ressource to represent your capacity to soldier on through a difficult loss of coordination, and troopers still have their individual irregular orders. In the absolute worst case scenarios, use the turn in LoL to re-group and consolidate your forces. Takes the easy shots that are available and set yourself up for the next turn. It's an excellent time to use your doctors and engineers since they're stuck using their own orders anyway. Make sure to choose your new Lt following the same reasoning outlined in the video but taking in the changed context of the current stage of the game (Great opportunity to put the lt for the next turn on your most well positioned brawler option). How vulnerable you are to LoL is a decision made at the list-building stage. If you have an obvious weakness in that area, you are telegraphing it to your opponent and incentivizing them to actually gun for your Lt. Making it far more likely to end up in LoL in the first place. If you have LoL resilience built-in, your opponent is wasting their ressources going for a decapitation run, and them deciding to doing so anyway would be to your advantage. LoL is just another axis on which you can skew your list effectiveness on. It has appropriate consequences for the positive skew it gives (Min-maxing order efficiency; Maximized when things goes well but Minimized when thing go wrong).

Is keeping your lieutenant secret a real concern for you? With lieutenant roll target number (WIP) being open information, I constantly find I basically reveal my Lt at deployment since many lt options all have different WIP.
@InfinityDante25 күн бұрын
It depends on the lieutenant honestly. If it’s a concession lieutenant I’m absolutely taking a decoy or some other kind of protection like CoC but if it’s any of the other kinds you’re usually playing them with the understanding that your opponent will know who they are. In most tournament games of infinity I play me and my opponent are at least vaguely aware of what each others opponents are being able to narrow it down to between 1-3 models or camo markers on the table. The real game in actually protecting your LT is to make it so that the risk in trying to kill it outweighs the benefit killing said LT could provide in your opponents mind. If your opponent realizes that your LT is say an aguacil, but looks over the table and sees 2 aguacils on different rooftops on my DZ past a Moran and an ARO piece, it’s likely that they will chooses instead to engage in the mission or attack other priority targets to advance the board state reliably rather than waste their first turn (which may cost them the game) on a 50/50 shot at shooting the right guy, if they can get there in the first place. Using the examples in the video, an alpha is obvious as would be a zeta as soon as he spends that LT order but part of the LT game is picking an LT whose benefits outweigh their vulnerabilities, even if that benefit is as small as having a valid list. TDLR; no, keeping my LT a secret does not tend to be a real concern if your LT has been selected in a good way and if your list has been built to facilitate or protect the LT Hope this helps!

I'm a noob, but last week I had the best set of games. My lieutenant got isolated and my coc model got killed turn 2! It led to a handshake. Then next game I went up against a much better player and managed to rocket his Lt in my alpha strike! It was so much fun watching him scramble with turn 1 under loss. He clawed it back but the experience was amazing both ways. Loving my journey in Infinity so far, every game tells a story.
@6PotatoesGaming26 күн бұрын
Couple questions, since I'm getting back into Infinity. 1. What makes a "good" lieutenant? I understand L+1 order is good for NCO, but any other qualifiers? Coming from a Varuna main in tail-end N3 and first year of N4, I had a real choice between basic Fusilier or an Orc. 2. Why do you call the Bronzes bad if they have a "toolbox" style kit? Just the price? 3. Why don't you like Bangbomb? I'm sure I'll have more questions, but those are just the ones I could remember. And these aren't just me cutting your opinions down, I'm genuinely curious.
@InfinityDante26 күн бұрын
Hey mate! Love questions, feel free to drop more as you think of them 1. What makes a good lieutenant (LT) is such a good question that I might make a whole video on it. The first thing you have to understand is what context you’re in. An LT can be a good or acceptable LT in one faction while being unplayable in another. A Corregidor aguacil is a fine LT in Corregidor but no other faction would dream of playing one. The context in O12 factions is that you have the ment agent who totally covers for the risk aspect of the LT meaning O12 only really focuses on the effect of what an LT can bring to the table while for other factions the LT is a more restrictive aspect. Considering this context, a good LT in O12 is one whose status as an LT has a noticeable impact on the game. There are 2 broad categories of good LT’s in O12 being units that make good use of the LT order and LTs that provide other benefits by virtue of being LT such as Strategos or extra command tokens. You can look at a LT and ask ‘does it fit into either of these categories?’ and if the answer is yes, then it’s a good sign that it’s at least a decent LT. This method filters units like the raveneye, Cho, kappas, ect. as they do not make good use of the LT order or provide any extra benefit and highlights units like the zeta or saladin. Now this rule isn’t hard and fast, in starmada the raveneye is probably a better LT than hector due to other factors like cost and fire teams but I hope these gives you some good heuristics when it comes to LT’s. 2. When it comes to toolbox units you have to ask a few key questions being: a. what tools is the unit bringing; b. what is the likelihood the unit will use said tools; c. how good is the unit at using its tools; and d. how much is the unit paying for its tools. In the case of the Bronze, it pays for tools like it’s CC tools and abilities, 360 visor, climbing plus, and usually a gun (a gun is a tool) where it barely meets the standard of competency for shooting (BS13 no mods), does not meet the standard of being able to take on other CC models and is unlikely to reach CC, and has boutique gear that it pays for that does not help it in any of its roles. 3. Tristan isn’t a fan of Bagbomb from a game design perspective where in N4 we had a skill that was far more elegant that had the same effect as bagbomb. Tristan also has a particular destain for infinity modifiers that break the rule of working in multiple of 3’s such as the Zeta’s ECM -8 annoying him. As a skill, bagbomb is fine

The Santiago AD had frenzy before. I dropped two of them in my MO last edition onto an Avatar. What’s great about them in general is that they are good at assaulting backfields especiallyT2 and 3. He can leverage the frenzy in the DZ by getting the free movement in T3 and just being a real problem.
@InfinityDante26 күн бұрын
Yeah I really like him and frenzy has always been a big bugbear but it’s more that it affects him when he’s linked now but not much change on the AD profile. I like him in MO quite a bit but I think the crusher edges him out in Starmada. He’s still playable tho

Blue coats are pretty self contained and make a reasonably durable LT. You guys point out that your whole meta has to be entirely Shas or HB but, you will certainly run into those at a tourney. So not really having to worry about an assassination as much seems pretty decent.

Just make them hard to hit in the first place. BS13 would be good. TacAware or NCO would help to make them faster. Their background has them as veterans of so actually being Veterans instead of Spec Trained Troop would be good and Warhorse, even better.
