What type of mouthpiece do you use and does it matter when starting? I saw some videos saying 7C is the typical starting one and it severely limits some?
@TheBlackTrumpeter2 күн бұрын
I started on a cornet in 6th grade. Transitioned to an intermediate trumpet and 7C mouthpiece in 7th grade. Switched to a 3C in high school. Not sure why. I stayed with an intermediate trumpet and 3C mp until my junior year of college. Upgraded to a pro horn. I still play on my 3C from high school. The 3C allows me to consistently get the sound I want in all registers. Start with what you have and what you can comfortably afford. The biggest change in my playing was my focus on developing a great embouchure that will make any mouthpiece or trumpet sound good. Hope this insight helps.

Por qué tocas con ligaduras? Debería de ser con algo de stacatto. Explicame

The notes on top with the vaule positions on bottom along with the notes on the staff and you playing is extremely helpful. I've been playing trumpet for a decade but never got out of the intermediate level, as I have no one to play with or teach and guide. There are really no excuses but this is very helpful. Please keep up the great work.

I just recently had dental work done on my front tooth. I had a root canal, a temporary crown put in, and lastly, a permanent crown put on my front tooth and now, I can't play high notes anymore. I can hardly get to high G. I still have a missing front tooth that's been missing for years and I was able to play high notes but when I get that tooth sorted, I won't be able to play trumpet at all, I bet. 😢

If you were trying to sound like Clark Terry you accomplished it. Very smooth, simple but you made an easy solo sound great.
