I don't know if anyone watches this video or cares about it any more, but thank you for posting it. My dad was crew chief of Marsha Mason's car, number 32 in GT3, and worked on Mike Lewis's RX7, number 12, GT3 also. We are both really happy that there is some footage still out there, and you are the only person who has posted it.

The gearing sounds kinda off on this particular car, like it's always in a way too tall range, doesn't sound like the motor is running around peak RPM range. I'm not sure what kind of car this is, it sounds like a 6 cylinder engine. Fun race, the recent disaster and devastation from Helene made me wonder what kind of shape and condition these roads and trails are now.

I was fortunate to have run an enduro kart at Stardust a week after that CanAm and it rained the entire weekend. Still happy to have been around for several CanAm races at RIR, and Laguna Seca.

anyone care to see Jack Lawrence's Street Sonnet on youtube? This was taken after the estate auction at his residence after his passing 3 years ago. You'll never guess what color it is. kzbin.info/www/bejne/r3zKp3qFrsd4hrM

Chris Econamaki, met him at Petit Le Mans back around 2007?. Nice guy, but he was disoriented, elderly. Helped him find his friends. Watched him as a kid in the 60s.

Can Am was the best racing there was. Innovation is an understatement for Jim hall. But, all the chassis and engine combos was just awsome. Big injected v8's.

That Chaparral's wing flapping around is killing me! Great video!
@16-BITFPV3 ай бұрын
It's not "flapping around" it's active aero. Under breaking it pitches up, under acceleration it pitches down.
I have the poster signed by Paul Spruell from this race.

I know this is a long shot, but do you happen to have any media from the IMSA races on the same weekend? Either the GT or WSC rounds. I'm particularly fascinated by the GT round as it was a neck-to-neck fight between Panoz and Lotus.

Found this video while trying to find Senna's formula four or ford races. Did not hear or read anywhere what's the track but did race road atlanta in skipbarber on iRacing about 15 years ago and only the second last corner is of what i was racing. Was 3 tents of from world record lap and in a race, my internet connection cut me out while on lead from pole and "never" raced again online.

legendary @ 32:20, he obviously stayed in the gas and didnt lift one iota, this is when racing was about still and you didnt need to be rich to win, now its all electronic aids which helps the lesser skilled .. manual is dead in pro racing , what a joke, you now turn into the apex and floor the throttle, electronics take car of the rest .. btw these cars are more difficult do drive than a set up 'race car' . the race car is faster but still easier to drive because they handle near perfect .etc

Yeah I'm not sure that I can take Lyn St. James talking about what it takes to be a good driver and race in CART. She was, and is, a complete joke that took a seat away from a driver that actually deserved it. I'd rather take racing advice from a potato than her.
