If he (magically) got a podium he would likely drop down. I always think of Danny Ric saying his name like that. Have to root for someone who was (mostly) out of F1 and came back. He has the good grace to be older than me (if I had realised Sainz also was he might have been up slightly). I like that he won Le Mans. I'd rather see lots of people win a championship (lol) over him, but a single race win/podium i'd pick him.

Ahh not really lando had 8 pole potion only converted 2 into wins .that horrible for potential world champion .I don't think he can compete with max if max had a good car

@@ishanrukshan6431 he didnt have the fastest car at the majority of tracks only some. It was track dependent . Which is true of all of the cars. The only person who had a spell of dominance was max at the start of the year.

They are very, very close. Charles made next to no mistakes all year, and was more consistent. Remove the first 5 races where the RB was 2023 dominant, it isnt even a contreversal take

@@ishanrukshan6431 In 2022 he won Bahrain, Australia and Austria. He had his engine blow up TWICE from 20+ second leads in Spain and Baku. He was 30 seconds ahead of the RB in Monaco, and clearly the favourite to win in both Silverstone and Hungary, before strategy errors. The car was good before the summer break, where a technical directive + the lack of upgrades (they only had one major upgrade in 2022) started the RB dominance era, and meant the parkinsons riddled merc neatly caught up. Out of 13 races where the car was competitve, Charles Won/Would have won 8 of them. He went toe to toe with Max in a further 2 . The only races he wasnt a factor was Canada, where he had a engine pen, Imola where he spun, and the race that shall not be named. In 10/13 races where the car was good, he was better, or at least as good as max. And yes, he made mistakes, but less than Max. He spun in Imola , and was extremley unlucky in France (max and Carlos had nearly identical spins in spain, but they got to hit gravel, and recover, not the migrane inducing turbo pad that launches you at a wall like in paul ricard) Charles spun in Imola, Crahsed in France, and cut the chicane in Suzuka. Max spun in Spain and Hungary (won anyway due to Ferrari incompetence) Locked up massivly in singapore, and went wide damaging his floor in silverstone. And, this year, Charles had the best average finishing position post summer break, scored the most points, had the best tyre management on average over the year, and made the least mistakes. If we give Charles 10 points (5 place, his minimim normal finishing position) in the races where the car shat the bed, he is within 40 points of Max in the standings And thats the minimum, in a car that wasnt dominant for 5 races like Maxs was

That's why some people call him Charles latifi for long time .but I give to you this is the best year of his carrier. But you can't compare him with a guy who won his championship with 3 rd fastest car after first 7 races.charles is consistent.but he is not max And please don't make everything" team error , strategy,or favourite to win ,or car was bad, like so many excuses. You didn't even mention technical errors max had beginning of the 2022 season. Charles Leclerc's pole to win percentage in Formula 1 is 19.23%, which is the worst of any driver with 20 or more poles in formula 1 history. Leclerc has 26 pole positions and has won five races, only four of which came from his pole positions. and this is worst than lando. Max Verstappen has an 80% pole to win ratio in Formula 1 Are you sure Charles can compete with Max

They all also had the best car though by a country mile. The Ferrari was between 1st-4th fastest and Charles still put it top 5 every time (apart from the dip in the middle). I’d be curious to see what he would do if he did have a dominant car.

Charles finished top 5 in all races he finished bar 2. And in those 2, he was sideswiped in t1 in austria, and had a +100 sec strat in silverstone. And whats mad is that hes been on this top 5 run since Belgium 2023

They are going to have to be as patient with him as Red Bull were with max, but it’s going to be tough doing it at the big team… I think Williams would have been a better spot for him but I’m glad that Vowles is separating them from Merc

That's fair and I agree to an extent. My point is more that his media persona matches who he actually is more than for some other people.

I love Ollie. Been following him since F3. Kimi I think is really talented but I’m worried they are promoting him too quickly. Jack is such a fun dude, but I’m not sure about his talent level. Isack I’m not a huge fan of. He just seems grumpy all the time whether he is driving or not. Gabi I am super impressed with. He was just really consistent in a way Isack and Paul Aron were not. Glad to have a Brazilian on the grid again.

The difference in max and George are max on the radio called out lando appealing to the stewards for a penalty, George acted fine about qualifying until they were in the stewards, max was mad about George being two faced not the penalty.

See I’m opposite to you 😂 Radios are one of the best things about F1 for me. I wish we got them in other sports (you’ll occasionally get the like “miked up moments” but those are heavily edited after the fact and usually not played live)
