Don't you think that question of whether an idea comes from yourself or outside yourself is self-answering? Any thought you have is spiritual in nature, so any idea or vision would be angelic or demonic either way. The key is to differentiate between the two using an understanding of Torah. We dream that we are separate in some way from the spiritual world because we fail to recognize its significance in normal life, but in truth everything has a spiritual cause and effect relationship. You exist in the world, so everything you think is from outside of you. If you receive "something" that you recognize as important, then rest assured it is a message that not only comes from the physical, but the spiritual as well. The spiritual world is overlaid on top of the physical, but it exists in dimensional planes most don't see within a finite "real life" perspective. YeHoVaH can reveal this, as he did for prophets like Moses and Elisha, but until a person is given this spiritual power and authority, they dont perceive it. The truth is dreams, ideas, and visions all come from the dimensions that the spirits dwell in. These are 7 dimensions (3 spatial plus 7 extra dimensions) that energy like light can exist in. This can actually be derived from the Genesis creation account, and is why there are ten sephirot levels (or dimensions).
