I started to search for Hashem at a young age; Born into a secular family. I wanted to see the face of Hashem, So I became a nurse and worked in the Emergency room, intensive care unit and a burn unit in order to intimately witness healing and death. I wanted to see the wonders of the body, as well as witnessing the soul leaving the body, I wanted to see what happens to the body after the soul leaves. I worked in labor and delivery and to witness the soul coming into this world. I went to India searching for Hashem through meditation and body disciplines, trying to transcend the body. I finally found the Torah and became frum, so much Emes, yet I still feel disturbed by death, especially now during this time when the evil is culling and seems to be ruling the world. Thank you Rabbi for this shiur reveling the bigger picture that connects death to cleansing of the soul and helps to explain how we are experiencing the pain of separation from soul to body going all the way back to the original sin. This explains the role of tashuvah, that helps to lift the veil of separation and bring the soul and body closer together. May we see Gaula with mercy, and without delay. May we no longer need death anymore, very soon.

Could it be that upon death and the PURIFICATION of the body AND its soul, by ANNIHILATING the sin, - you are left with PURE CONSCIOUSNESS - a form if you will - of The Almighty Himself?

Excellent shiur. I wanted to ask a few things. First, if the body and soul act as lenses, what then is the zulaso? I remember listening to you before that the nature of the zulaso is awareness itself and the self can only be aware of itself and there really isn't anything outside of the self. I guess that would answer why the zulaso needs lenses, and I assume the objects is for the soul and body to integrate both realities to form the basis for olam haba. My question is how can a created being be annihilated by its own doing, something that didn't come into being by an external force cannot be annihilated unless from that same external source, in other words, if I committed a sin, I created an untruth, how can this be, unless God puts in an escape clause, such as in the day you eat you will die, or this or that will happen, usually some kind of suffering, this is the escape clause from creating a sheker, because even when one sins x or y will happen to him which maintains an emet and what saves him from annihilation. I had more questions but I forgot.

I gather that you are suggesting - death - is an AWARENESS of the separation between body and soul, correct? This CONSCIOUSNESS is constantly ABSTRACTING from the reality we perceive to a new level of AWARENESS. Perhaps this is the reason why we can never truly GRASP, or UNDERSTAND, who we really are!
