Awesome work dude! As always. I gotta give it to you again. I hate replacing them stems. I guess since all my work is in Chicago the water seize them old ghroe and kohler stems in a lot of these old galvanized pipes. And they are a #*#*# to remove. Sometimes it’s better to replace whole faucet start new. 👍 You’re doing good work out there tho my guy!

The schrader valve stem of the gauge is where it has leaked more times than I can remember during air tests. I started carrying at least 3 gauges, a valve stem wrench, and extra valve stems to avoid the frustration of the past during the testing of known quality installations, and the pressure drops at the gauges. Great videos and work! 🙂👍

Is that the Tracpipe proprietary tape you used to wrap the the stainless steel? I know Tracpipe says you are supposed to use their tape but I have always just used electric tape. Was wondering if it is functionally any different than standard electrical tape. I liked Tracpipe’s Autosnap because it eliminates any exposed stainless steel but I have not been able to get them in a while and have even heard they don’t make them anymore.
@ThatPlumberDude

Yes it’s TracPipe Silicone Tape. It is pretty different from electrical tape. It creates a watertight seal.

The mega press and propress work awesome if you take your time and prep the pipes correctly. Problem is to many young newbies out there want to post videos on KZbin because they are full of drama then they rush and mis steps and then the only person suffering is the homeowner who has to deal with a leak. Viega offers all this VIP status to people who post videos on using the press system they have to get so much status on KZbin, All it's doing is forcing the new generation into doing jobs to quickly and making mistakes all because they want to post there videos on KZbin. The bottom fitting pulled up just like a few others stated but this kid don't care all he cares about is posting his videos. All he had to do was pay attention but that's to much to ask for in the new generation. In 2024 social media has our new generation addicted. I see so many videos on KZbin that 99% are done by young adults 40 years and younger who are posting plumbing projects that are not done per code, and they take short cuts, sloppy work and the list goes on, But if you try to correct them they will ignore you and come back with a smart remark because again this is the mentality of our new generation. I been a business owner for 30 years licensed master plumber in 3 different states and believe me when I tell you I seen it all I really have seen it all, I seen the good and the bad. Seriously I even see plumbers who can't even sweat pipe because of all the new stuff on the market, You would think the owner of these plumbing companies would teach their employees how to sweat pipe but the Matter of the fact is the owner had the business passed down to them and they are only in thee earlier 30s so they don't know how to sweat pipe either. You will need to sweat pipe in certain situations. There are customers out there who are old school and only believe in soldered copper pipe and will not let you in there home so you better know the trade throughout. This kid in this video has himself labeled as that plumbing dude which is completely unprofessional it's self but he probably thinks it's awesome because of his age and I'm sure he will fight you over it with smart remarks ECT. All I can say is this if your one of those drama kids and are addicted to posting videos of plumbing on KZbin then don't right, make sure it's per code, make sure there are no mistakes, take your time. It's not about how fast you can mega press a fitting, it's a customers gas line for crying out loud , lives are at stake..
