I built a den with my friends on the local park, we made a kitchen area with tarp in the ground, i took all the knives and cutlery from the kitchen. My mum marched me off the park with all the stuff from the den back home 😂 im 30 and feel im part of the last generation that had this freedom unfortunately.

I've run up and down Baslow, Curbar and Frogatt Edges for years, lovely spot! You can be lucky sometimes and see big red deer over on White Edge. Call at my friend Sarah's van for a cuppa! (Jolly's) in the carpark on Curbar Edge, you can't miss it.

Great podcast Jo and Paul. A suggestion I have mainly because I try and do it myself and I think it's really cool is hiking / camping between two point using public transport, I'm not aware of anybody doing it on KZbin. I like the planning etc. And on the hills when chatting most people like the idea.

Like a lot of places in the peaks its chokka there now, last time i went there there was a wedding party being filmed on the rocks. When I was a teen in the eighties there was no-one there!

I watch several other KZbinrs who do sponsorships, and it doesn't bother me that much, except for one or two that don't seem to support the products they pitch, and just do it for the money. I won't name them, but I get the impression that you'd never pitch a product you didn't already wholeheartedly support.

Messner's mantric mutterings 😉....That was a good one ... I'm just about to start with youtube so trying to get as much insight as possible ... I'm an artist too already doing basic merch but really want to up my game in terms of supplier/quality ... until now I've been reliant on print on demand companies with their own marketplace... but the quality of products and inflated prices are getting me nowhere... I'm hoping using youtube as a platform for self promotion and finding a better manufacturer might get me somewhere ... fingers crossed ... just got a couple of action cams for kick off this year .... thanks for the insight and inspiration 🙂

I like your evolved style of talking about your kit, treating your camera (your viewers) as a friend that's with you. It's good that you aren't positive about everything and says if it's overpriced. I have noticed recently that lots of other KZbinrs regularly refer to Paul. You should both be proud of what you are achieving.

I think it's very important to have a steady reliable income that you can grow. I think it not really possible now to earn real money without sponsorship deals.

As always, it was very nice to join you all. I know the original schtick was to be outdoors, but honestly I don't expect any of us are hung up on that and having you two enjoy a cuppa over the dining room table or in a local pub or whatever is every bit as good. It's your interaction and the good banter that we drop in for. ;)

Love your chats! As a throw away suggestion I’d love to know if you would ever consider an alternative lifestyle, e.g. living in a canal narrowboat or motor home? What do you think of people who do it? I’m a single female in my 60s, two years away from retirement. I’ve worked 45 years in a secretarial 9-5 job to finally own my own modest home and am wondering if I have the guts to swap bricks and mortar for a narrowboat when I retire 🤔🙃🙂
