this album sounds like a black metal masterpiece and one made by a black metal musician who is a member of the mohawk tribe in the adirondack mountains in new york and i have been listening to mayhem new album daemon and its just and beautifully produced i love how they have the sound of a flute and acoustic guitar so many very cool elements plus the atmosphere i have heard both of those albums

I like that you are very respectful & you acknowledged their world class skills. (one of the top metal bands from Japan currently, at least musician skill wise). And you just confirmed one thing, music is like food, everyone has their own preferences. I'm the opposite of you, I enjoy guitar solo very much, or any instrumental solo, I enjoy harmonized solo or instrument duel even more. *BUT* not just some mindless solo, they must be melodic & full of soul. Speaking about solo, I prefer solo section in rock / metal song far more than any other section e.g. bridge, or breakdown like the modern metal. I do not actually dislike breakdown, they are one of great elements that can be incorporated in metal song.

Very finnish cinematography. It's like from older movies style done with a twist. As a Finn I love this video. This is their least heavy song by far.

Very interesting, reflected and thoughtful reaction from you guys! One thing that struck me is this: you are of course right that the German band members can seem offensive as Jewish hanged men. I just think that the German Jews are being "ignored" in this way. These people were Germans like everyone else. And, the worst thing about it, they felt that way too! Of course, the group of German Jews is a smaller one compared to the Polish and Russian Jews, etc. "Only" 195,000 (including the Austrians, 260,000). But these people are also an integral part of the history of my country. It was and is their Germany too!

Absolutely love this album. What would you say to those who critique it’s so call harsh or lack of transitions in the album? I never get bother or notice this but maybe due to all the years of familiarity listening to it, so I am not sure if those who critique it have a valid point

To me Minds Mirrors is a build of suspense. Its not on there for the musical aspect, its for atmosphere. This whole album is like watching a movie to me. Minds mirrors its like the build up to something big which comes in the form of In Death - Is Life. Shed Is the build up to the climax which is dehumanization. Sum is the falling out or the credits.
@DanikaOliver24 күн бұрын
In my interpretation the whole album is about depression and Mind's mirror is like a poem mocking and warning us about the traps of conciousness and reductionism, ans also answering how to break free of it hence the energetic part in the song.

Uff you really are untrained to extreme metal. How can you even compare this to Emperor? Couldnt be any more different

For real. I actually had to do a double take to make sure I heard him correctly. Also calling a soprano sax a flute boggled my mind. Reeded wind instruments sound so different from non-reeded wind instruments.

I don't know how much you know about music but this is not heavy metal, this is symphonic metal that goes back before metal. You have a big difference between heavy metal and symphonic metal. Bands like Nightwish Epica etc. are not heavy metal bands, that is why you decide to leave out heavy metal. Symphonic metal is unique, it fuses the power of metal with the beauty of classical music. You can't talk about hevt metal if you know music you have to know the difference between rock blues trash metal I recommend that you learn about the bands for future videos.

Voivod has had several different phases, some of them much less weird, so it’s possible your previous experience was from one of those eras. The last ten years of Voivod have sort of been a return to form, to their weird progressive stuff, which is what most people (including myself) consider to be their best stuff. One weirder song that I think has a great groove and catchy riff as well is 2013’s Mechanical Mind (though you gotta give it about a minute before it really starts swinging’) m.kzbin.info/www/bejne/i2apZXylr6qqpNk&pp=ygUWTWVjaGFuaWNhbCBtaW5kIHZvaXZvZA%3D%3D

I hope Obzen(song) gets added back to their SETLIST (2025 maybe), would be awesome to hear live even if a bit slowed down, same with combustion

The fact that they haven’t (and prob never will) play this since ozzfest 02 and whenever this was released is very disappointing. I’d kill to hear live now, even if it’s a bit slower I can understand Tomas probably can’t anymore but just imagine one yr on tour they brought this back as a surprise set song
