On one hand like yeah it's sad but on the other hand every single encounter in the game is never started by the player, it's always started by the monsters, and everyone except papyrus will kill you and feel absolutely nothing, they'll even do it in spare mode so it's not like they're declining to attack you. The whole thing would have a lot more impact if you were the one going after them and initiating the fights after they decline to.

The Light Brand sword is obtained at the end of chapter 19 if no more than 2 green units were defeated. With warp tricks, it’s possible to defeat the boss and end the chapter in just 1 turn.

The toriel one really shocked me. I always had the impression of her being that character that always believes in the ones that are deemed irredeemable (the humans). But this betrayal kill showed me other wise. You see, Toriel hasn't seen any human child perform an action that would be seem irredeemable hence she believes that they are or can be good. But by performing the betrayal kill, she experiences it first hand how wicked the human child can be. She then laughs at herself because she feels extremely dumb that she was scared for the human when in reality she's supposed to be scared for the monsters. That betrayal kill shows toriel that you are more than capable of performing cold blooded murder while being sane. She then tells you that you would be fine with the monsters out there. The same monsters are angry at the humans because of all the pain and suffering they have gotten from then. I am sure her last laugh was her regretting her decision of not killing you because in a way, she let a cold blooded murderer out to meet her people (the monsters). Her soul lingering for a moment shows that too. And eventually, she dies. This is God tier writing Toby fox!

12:19 I just realised something :0 If you call Undyne in front of Alphys' lab whilst the guards are still there, she'll say she can't "ask the guards to not harm humans, because humans can control minds" and if she'd ever tell them not to harm humans she'd be "under mind control". The royal guard will then no longer say "psyche, got you" but "the human put me under mind control, what did I just say?"

i never noticed but papyrus and sans dont have souls that appear because when sans dies off screen you hear the dust noise but not the soul break and papyrus just dusts
