Apparently this song represents an "episode" in Mr. Clapton's life. So glad he found his happily ever after down the road.

In Wikipedia it was wrote that his Liver failure was brought on by excessive, repetitive use of Paracetamol ( I expected the culprit to be booze, and , for all I know, it was the one with the other (?) ) and he actually had a Liver transplant. So very young to die and a tragic waste of Talent and Love. A genuine nice guy by many many accounts.😢

Eric Clapton is/was a superb guitar player technically speaking. What I miss is that I can't feel the lyrics in the guitar. Same applies to his singing. When you love someone but can't get to him/her, your emotions fluctuate between anger, depression, helplessness, etc. That's what I hear/feel when I listen to Peter Green on guitar and vocals, which makes him in my opinion the best blues interpretator. But then again, that's my opinion for what it's worth: kzbin.info/www/bejne/aIS4da2Pd8ecq7c

Yes...Eric has gotten a lot of media criticism regarding his vaccine stance and previous ill advised drunken racist remarks. I condemn those. However, for anyone who thinks this man doesn't identify with the blues or isn't an authentic purveyor of the genre, than you don't know anything about blues guitar. His singing and those licks are the real thing. As for as the blues goes, Eric gets it.

The From The Cradle era was probably the closest he came to reigniting that fire he had from the Cream days. I think the 335 had something to do with that too.
