5.08 that scale change kills me .. the whole song is clapton signature: emotions, harmonies, charisma, fuilidity .. best in blues. jimi hendrix is like wow !! but can t make a blues like this : proper, elegant, clean, harmonious... too noizy hendrix. once in a while it s ok..clapton.,.everyday since 30 years .. perfection !!!! give the man the credit he deserves. he s the best of all times..for anyone who knows what the blues is all about ....

Eric Clapton builds his solo's the way Michelangelo painted his masterpeices, in their own ways they have much in common. All his solo's are great, some transcend greatness and become pure magic! And he lets us share in his brilliance. I feel so lucky to be able to hear this musician's musician! God bless Eric Clapton!! The Brits should declare him a national treasure!!!
@kurtsonafelt91242 жыл бұрын
You are so spot on man! Not taking away from Jimi, but Clapton brings tears to my eyes on every blues I've ever heard him do!! Vaughn is technically brilliant also but I gotta put Eric on top when it comes to a straight up blues. The word impeccable comes to mind.

Eric treats that 335 like going back to an old flame. It may have been while since she’s last been in your arms, but once you get your hands on her again you just instinctively know what to do. Just a man in complete control of his instrument. And we’re all witnessing it.

He got his first guitar in 1958 when he was 13, gave it up until two years later, he learned the BLUES chords and then practiced it several hours a day. The rest is history. You have to love what you are doing. Clapton didn't care that much about pop music at age 13 and 14, but by 1960 at the age of 15 he discovered the blues and what a difference that made. He has a B D in very late March, so before April 1, the day that we are all reminded of who we are, the great Eric Clapton will turn 70. How strange, Eric Clapton age 70! But you know music students 200 years from now will be watching this video and learning about great rock and blues music much like we (former music students) learned about Bach, Mozart, and Beethoven.

Eric Clapton purchased his Cherry Red Gibson ES-335 in 1964 and used it throughout his career until it was sold by him at auction in 2004. It became known as the “Cream Guitar" as during his tenure with the band. Eric Clapton sold his Cherry Red ES-335 at auction on 24 June 2004 to help raise funds for the alcohol and drug rehabilitation facility, Crossroads Centre at Antigua, which he founded in 1997. It sold for a staggering $847,500 and was purchased by the U.S. music retailer, Guitar Center.

You are so right. Proof positive that, "it's what you play not how fast you can play it". Too many guitarists these days that think more speed and more effects equals better playing. Wrong... If you look closely, you'll see EC is using almost no effects, perhaps just a compressor or volume pedal. It's just guitar, amp, and sheer talent you hear. Speaking of talent, I think that's drum god, Steve Gadd.
