Thank you so much for including Blochsox! I tried them once in ballet class and since then I just can't get myself to putting on ballet slippers again. Those socks are just so comfortable. Plus, I can really see what I am doing with my toes (....curling..🙄.).

Hi! Love this - I’m 27 and doing ballet for first time. I rly want to go on pointe someday…is that possible? It’s always been a dream of mine but there are no pointe classes for adults near me after I’ve moved up the ranks

I want to venture into the world of Ballet. going on point is the similar to the violin vibrato. everyone want to jump to the good parts without the work.

I'm going onpointe after a year, but that doesn't mean I immediately began doing fouettes with them. Just some simple releves and echappes at the barre - without leaving the barre for a while

feels more like yoga stretching than ballet which looks effective, but I was looking more for ballet stretches on the floor or on the bar.

Thank you so much for this video. I've always though ballet was one of the prettiest dances in the world, but my parents never really had the money to let me do classes. Still as an adult I don't have the money to go to classes, or get a barre myself to try and leaen at home, or anything-but ive got about four years until I fi ish my master's, which hopefully means in about four years I'll be able to take classes, assuming I have a good job for it. And with videos like yours (and I like yours the best!!) I'll hopefully be flexible enough to put my focus towards learning the choreography rather than feeling discouraged over not being flexible enough ❤

Thank you so much for this video! I'm 38, just started ballet a few months ago, and have flat feet. I was starting to notice my feet were rolling in and messing up my alignment in normal ballet shoes. I learned from you in this video about MDM shoes, got a pair of the profile ones, and they're game changing.

Long. I observe adults in my studio who wants pointe shoes asap not understanding the anatomy of feet and that is obligatory to have regular trainings under guidance in ballet shoes only. It is dangerous to try anything with pointe shoes without correct preparation. I would never allow adults to use pointe shoes in my studio except those who had ballet long time ago with strong foundation.

I actually think your feet look better in the Bloch Heritage. The Grace shoes look more bulky in the box. But I do understand you have to go with whatever fits best for your foot! I tried Bloch Heritage years ago during a pointe shoe fitting and they did not feel right for me at the time which was disappointing because everything about them on paper seems to be what I need for my high arched, wide metatarsal, diamond shaped, low profile, short toe Egyptian feet. It is really hard to find pointe shoes for the combination of wide metatarsals, high arch but short and Egyptian toes. I also have a hard time rolling through pointe shoes with a higher vamp (Grishko Novas were a close fit but vamp was too high to roll up in, and then once I was up on pointe I rolled too far over the box lol). I am currently in Russian Pointe Almaz and they are a close fit but I still have a hard time rolling up through them. The taper is perfect though and I do not roll over the box. I suspect the shank on the Heritage might be too soft for me though. I had that issue with Capezio Contemporas where I would roll over the box and bend too much in the arch even with a brand new shoe. I wish I could try Gaynors but they are so $$$ and I don't dance on pointe enough to justify spending that money. Thinking about going to a pointe shop and trying the Heritage again, maybe in a different size or harder shank. Appreciate your demonstration!

the last advice about it being for YOU is so important. i danced from ages 5-12 as a kid, taking up to 5 classes a week in all sorts of dance styles. but then i hit 7th grade and i got so burnt out with life, and instead of allowing dance to be my safe haven from everything else, it became a chore and i skipped so many classes, so i ended up quitting. i used to regret quitting sooo much because dance was my LIFE. but now that i've learned its not too late to restart and go back, i have way more passion for it than ever :) i thank younger me for taking it for granted so that me now can enjoy it so much more

People see ballet as a thing kids do, partly the large community's fault. But overall it is a style of dance. No one would ask this question if you took up pretty much any other dance form. Doubt many folks who do salsa or hip hop need justification for their choices.

I just had my first class in the Grace tonight. I began ballet in my early 30's and I'm 48 now. I took a couple years off during the pandemic which is when most companies rolled out new shoes. I've worn so many pointe shoes but could never make Bloch work for me until I tried the Grace. I was pleased to see that my platforms were evenly marked after class which means I was over my pointes even when I wasn't paying close attention. They hugged my arches which I never got in Grishkos. Now Grishko is Nikolay and I never got the feeling of balance on them I had with Grishko. The Graces weren't as pretty on my feet or quite as comfortable as my old Gaynors, but the new Gaynors are awful. I wouldn't be surprised if I end up wearing Grace for the next year or two. This may sound odd, but I think they are good for the adult foot which isn't as malleable as a teen's.

Do you teach remotely ? I was a dancer most of my life and never went on pointe. I want to take adult ballet class and we do not offer any here where i live. I Would like to take class 3 days a week so i am able to become strong enough for pointe class. i do pilates reformer class right now 3 days a week and dance at home. But in order to go on pointe i need an instructor. Thank you !

Thank you so much for doing this channel. I want to cry because I started ballet and did it for 2 years as a child, and then 2 more years in high school. But I felt like I never progressed because I did not do it consistently enough. I am 23 now and I have always dreamed of going on pointe and going back to ballet, but everywhere I go they always say it is "too late." This is the first channel that has encouraged me that I can go back to ballet as an adult!!! Question, do you perform ballet outside of class? I just am a little curious.
