the last advice about it being for YOU is so important. i danced from ages 5-12 as a kid, taking up to 5 classes a week in all sorts of dance styles. but then i hit 7th grade and i got so burnt out with life, and instead of allowing dance to be my safe haven from everything else, it became a chore and i skipped so many classes, so i ended up quitting. i used to regret quitting sooo much because dance was my LIFE. but now that i've learned its not too late to restart and go back, i have way more passion for it than ever :) i thank younger me for taking it for granted so that me now can enjoy it so much more

I'm at this point as well! I danced from age 6 to 14. I've been out a long time. I kept up with tap at home but never took ballet. I'm excited!

Thank you so, so MUCH! I am starting my first class tomrrow at 20 and I am pretty nrevouse but super exited. However, I am nervous about my age and still being a beginner... My goal is to one day (years down the road) hopefully be able to get en pointe. This video was amazing and super informative. Thank you so much again :)

Thank you. I’m a very old ballerina that should’ve probably been when younger. Your channel has inspired me to become more physically fit. Strength and stretching. Love you already! And thank you for the encouragement! I will aim for 3x per week.

Thank you so much for doing this channel. I want to cry because I started ballet and did it for 2 years as a child, and then 2 more years in high school. But I felt like I never progressed because I did not do it consistently enough. I am 23 now and I have always dreamed of going on pointe and going back to ballet, but everywhere I go they always say it is "too late." This is the first channel that has encouraged me that I can go back to ballet as an adult!!! Question, do you perform ballet outside of class? I just am a little curious.

Thank you for this, short but useful ! I'm going to begin my "second" year in ballet on September (the first one I had a really low number of class due to covid...) and I'm soooo happy ! I love summer break but no dance class make me feel sad !

i benefit SO MUCH from in person observation and correction so i really wish the studios in my area would offer classes outside of normal office hours :,) i work full time so i can’t make it to the early morning, weekday classes and it sucks that it’s my only option rip

What advice might you give for someone who was classically trained as a child but quit in their teens and wants to get back into it in their early 20s? Quitting is my biggest regret and I want it back in my life and miss it so much.

Sameeee :( Did you get back into it? :)

If you haven’t yet just go for it!!!! I’m in my late 20s and I’m planning to start as an absolute beginner, I’ve never danced before. If I can do it so can you 💕 Starting will probably be one of the biggest hurdles

Guys starting baller again with 18 will be consider as ballet as an adult or a teenage?

How long have you been dancing? Are you on Facebook and Instagram?Like many ballet dancers do you have an extensive leotard collection? Where are you originally from?

This may be a dumb question but I’ll ask anyway. Will an adult ballet dancer be able to obtain the same physique as a dancer who started very young?
@idklol88932 жыл бұрын
i think that depends on the person. If you´re naturally strong and more flexible you can have an even better physique than someone who started at a young age but isnt that flexible or strong. Everyone is different.

I think there's a sort of confirmation bias almost. Where those who don't have the "ballet body" when they're younger drop ballet and don't go on to do it professionally. Therefore all professional ballet dances look like "ballerinas" because they're the ones that were able to get that far. This is probably a big exaggeration but im hoping you see my point. But doing ballet consistently will definitely build the classic ballet muscles and strength along with the flexibility and posture!
