We have a tree that’s got fruit for the first time. The tree is about 15 years old. It’s November now and the abundant fruit is not getting any bigger -about the size of a haas. So I took some off to ripen but after two weeks in a bag, they’re till hard. After another week they’re a little soft but they’re getting wrinkles The fruit is watery ompared to a haas. My husband thinks it’s a reed

Mangos are either monoembryonic, which means they produce one embryo which is a combination of both parents, or polyembryonic. Poly seeds produce multiple trees. One is the combination of both parents and the remainder are clones of the mother. So they are not necessarily true to seed. The non-clone is usually one of the more vigorous sprouts since it’s more likely to get a big chunk of the seed food.

I had bought a orange sherbert and pickering mango in 5 gallon. I covered it for protection from The heat, i saw it yesterday it is dry. I cut it backhopefully it comes back in the spring. The pickering is still leafy. Both are small still

thank you for your videos you've been encourging us in several videos to start our own mango trees from seed, I had lots of good starts but it's hard for me to nurture it after 3 months or as soon as I put in the ground but luckly I have one that survived but it looks stressed for me. any tips how to maintaine a young mango seedling and what could harm it the most? bugs? too much water? fungus? wind? here from saudi arabia btw and I have neighbors who grow mango tree but for me I cant keep them alive.

You are 100% correct, I lost all the grafted trees I got from Tropical Acre farms. They use turpentine stock, won’t do good here. I live Zone 10a near Ventura. I am able to plant seedlings which are doing good, no wilting as well. I so badly need Kesar seedling, it’s hard to find. I found a seller who grafted Kesar on Manila stock, do you think it will survive? Seller claims they do even well in SoCal zone 9b

Sorry to hear about your losses. I'm not sure. Getting a true Kesar variety is quite rare. I've heard of several fakes. It would do fine here though.

Thanks for sharing! Those tiny fruitlets are referred to here in California as nubbins. They never get full size due to aborted embryos most likely from fungal pressures.

Also i just want to add that one of my favorite mangoes was from.a seedling tree in La Puente. it was a philippine type that tasted like pure, sweet coconut. the tree is very big and is alternate bearing. this year i didnt get to try any. i tried to grow out the seed but it was monoembryonic. so i dug it up and i am putting a Piña Colada seedling in its place. Also gonna put Sweet tart, Orange Sherbet, Cotton Candy, Cac(i started this one directly in ground), K-3, Peach Cobbler, Mesk, and Lemon Zest. All of these are seedlings by the way
