Have you tried deep watering the soil in the days before a removal? Moist soil helps to make the tree easier to remove, including long tap roots.

I haven't tried that. I'll try to remember it next time. Thanks.

Wow man, that was a brutal removal. I transplanted a mango this spring and it had about an 18" rootball and made it ok, but even that stressed me out. If your rip and tear method works it would save me some time in the future.

Thanks for sharing! Very cool to see the dense planting as I am just recently planting mango seedlings in that manner all next to each other. I been pretty interested in Jahengir and Iman Passand and some of those light flesh Indian varieties. Awesome to see a seedling of Jahangir! I would have asked for the seedling budwood if I seen this 🤣. 🤞to the transplant!

Thanks! Imam Pasand is another amazing mango. Super complex flavor. If this tree bounces back, I can give you some scions.

I have two mango trees that grew roots out of its 2-gallon pot with 3-inch stems. I decided to air layer 9 branches before I dig them up. I will check one of the 2-month air layered branches at the end of this month. It should be good to go after 3 months. I think my air layered Pickering mango branches will turn into dwarfs. They say air layered mango trees grow smaller than their parents.

That's a cool project. Let me know if they turn out to be dwarves.

Clayish soil for mangoes too? Do they like it like acocados is that safe to say? I put one in potting soil and she didn't like it and seemed to die off. Have any videos on this topic you can send me a link to?

That was an aggressive removal. You lost a lot of roots there. I just uprooted one almost 3 weeks ago. All of my leaves died about 7 days later so I removed the dead branches until I seen green on the trunk (living tissue). I want to see if both of ours survive.

In nature, trees get pee and poop from animals. Natural fertilizer. In the next segment, AJ poops on the tree and it splashes on his face.

Did ya'll know that in Republica Dominicana you may grow food in a vacant lot, in any land no one is using, and the government is not allowed to stop you. This reminds me so much of Common Law and Natural Law which many people have forgotten about and don't exercise those god given rights.
@AJTheGraftMan3 ай бұрын
I didn't know that. Interesting. But in southern california, vacant lots don't stay vacant for long.
@nesq41042 ай бұрын
That's a great policy. No land should sit empty and unused. Generally. It should be populated with foods.
