I can't believe I found this, today I changed the oil on a c90, I did exactly what you said and accidently undid the cam tensioner bolt first, now I have a clattery sound but thanks to your video I will be recharging it with oil. Thankyou 😊

Super helpful thanks! Wanting to swap a manual version of these engines for a semi auto and after watching a handful of videos this seems to be the first one showing the shifter clutch assembly.

Are internal modifications mandatory? if yes which ones? oil passage as for the single cylinder?
@DaveSluggy
@DaveSluggy 10 ай бұрын
Yes, the oil pickup needs to be changed or the oil pump won't get any oil. The change is obvious when you see inside the casing.

Hi Dave, how do you go for parts etc if required. I’d love to get one of these models.
@DaveSluggy
@DaveSluggy Жыл бұрын
Well 99% of parts are common with other models, hydraulic piping is easy enough to get made up locally, similarly the oil cooler can be replaced with a non-original part. The torque converter, clutch and gearbox are very robust so long as you keep the oil clean and fresh. The only pain maintenance wise is keeping the drive shaft lubricated fully- ideally this needs a good soak in gear oil annually.

Nice! Is that a VM32 Mikuni? And did you have to change anything with the wiring at all?
@DaveSluggy
@DaveSluggy Жыл бұрын
Strictly speaking you don't need to alter the wiring, but I replaced the injector with a resistor and the same for the Lambda sensor.

Great build, goes well. Probably a few more tweaks may be needed here or there. I quite like a three cylinder with compact turbo charger to give a bit more umpt. We salute you for trying out new ideas 🙂👍

there is a hole all the way through, be careful you don't increase the size by poking something steel through it.

Very useful. Thanks. I was going to undo that nut before I watched your video. Now I am glad I didn’t. Better to take the side cover off to have a look. Presumably I don’t have to drain the oil from the engine to do inspect the chain ?

when priming that hole why wouldn't you just lay the bike over at an angel to get more in there then put the bolt back in before you stand it up straight.

My boys have an XPro go kart with the same setup as yours here. But I do not see the 3 ball bearing piece and the keeper I’ll call it that seems necessary to hold the shift lever in place. Looking online for a new clutch, most are not sold with these two parts either. Is this only necessary for multiple gears, or do I need it?
