i don't know anything about the political (or not) background of the music and the lyrics, but this is JUST AMAZING.

Feeling connected to something past my circumstances. The way Laurie Anderson shares past and present is revealing and artistic.

I guess we all just found out that we are the Barbarians, because we need them.

Minority opinion (tiny minority, I guess): I liked the first half, loved it in fact. Didn't like the ending of Barbarians ("Unless we ourselves are the barbarians" NOT IN THE POEM and subverts the meaning of the poem - and hated what she did to Ithaca.

Stay out of politics and stick to comedy. I used to watch your show all the time but no more. You're way too political on both sides. Johnny Carson would roll over in his grave, watching you do your show

The Barbarians is the single most destructive piece of poetry ever written! The belief that there are no more Barbarians"(quote the ending) Paved the way for the Woke movement and the defunding of police, the illusion of humanism and the lessening of law. "If you are merciful toward the cruel, you"ll be cruel to the merciful' ... The Cartels Nd the Palestinian terrorists are two groups that hugely benefit from these illusions.

It's great to see The Knights, conducted by Eric Jacobsen, as part of another exciting musical collaboration, this time with the great Laurie Anderson. They are always exploring new and old music in ways that make them a New York treasure. .

I first witnessed Laurie back in the 1970s at the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis. How wonderful to continue hearing her fifty years later, still blowing our minds. A consummate artistic genius!
