I really like how she showed the different effects the colors had on you. In all honesty, you def can “chose your vibe” and what you want to show off with how you play with the colors with all of that information. As many mentioned- there is a cultural component of what the idea beauty standards are at play. Have fun with color!!!

I feel like it depends on what cultural beauty standards you're trying to match on which ones looks best. Like I feel like the peanut face shape has prominent cheek bones which a lot of western countries like, whereas in Korea, this more smooth oval face is preferred. The higher contrast tones made you look more beautiful in western beauty standards and the lower contrast ones more with Eastern standards. Both nice, just different!

Definitely depends on the country's beauty standards. I feel like the muted spring colors suited her very well for Korean style fashion. High contrast colors like deep Winters would look amazing on her but that bold look would be more appreciated somewhere like the US
@fate-may5 күн бұрын
Right! I was about to comment the same thing. Personally I loved the winter colors more, but that's because I love her natural facial structure and the depth of her cheekbones. The lady kept commenting against it because Korean beauty standards don't like "masculine" facial structures like that
@iluvich123005 күн бұрын
@@fate-may Agreed, I lean more towards the bold "masculine" feel when it comes to fashion. It might sound mean but I feel like those colors make ppl look more mature and the pastel bright colors look more youthful. But again I'm guessing that's what Koreans usually lean to.

agree, winter looks PERFECT on her
@waterlilynymph20 күн бұрын
I think color analysis should also have to do with personality and take that into consideration. Obviously she is bold, funny, and not afraid of showing up. So she should wear bolder colors like winter or fall, and she should do high contrast to accentuate everything about her. She will feel more true to herself and confident in her own skin. I don’t think this color analyst took in who she really was on KZbin and in life. Yes she should absolutely wear black for a sassy and classy look. Keep wearing gold too, it is great for a bright fun personality like hers! And she doesn’t have a “peanut or cucumber” face. She has a gorgeous face.😊

It also depends on how you want people to perceive you. For me you look pretty cool and more sophisticated in Winter range, a bit more contrast and black.

I agree, it felt like youthfulness was the only parameter, or at least the most highly regarded one. It's good information but i personally loved the darker cool tones on her, and black.

Honestly, I disagree with this one. You're definitely cool-toned, that's true, but based on how severely your skin reacts to warm colors, I'd say you're fully cool (Soft Summer is neutral-cool). I can't really see the low contrast either... I'd love to see you in some Cool Summer and Cool Winter colors for comparison, you seem to have medium/medium-high contrast. In this color analysis, we mostly saw either very light and soft colors, or very dark and intense colors, not much in-between. I have noticed that most Korean color analysts like putting most people in muted, light colors for some reason...
@mondo010219 күн бұрын
Agree. From watching a few color analysis sessions by certain korean analysts, they frequently people as summers and springs, especially light or soft, even when it doesn't fit. Rather than value colors that harmonise, they value light and girly colors (which are also the predominant trend in korean makeup).

@yuisakamaki9710 i see what you're suggesting, but it's not in play here - I'm southeast asian, got typed in japan, and follow asian analysts like uireh.
@amysteriouspersonintophat14583 күн бұрын
@@yuisakamaki9710 Asian beauty standards follow a HUGE biased monolith lens itself, it's just a different monolith from the one you're thinking of. Did you hear how the color analyst keeps emphasizing she needs to hide her "freckles" and the indents on her face to look young? That's clear evidence of bias right there. I'm east Asian myself and I think she looks stunning in the fully cool high contrast colors too, this color analyst just wants to fit her into the trendy cute look.

All of the cool colors look lovely on you, and I loved hearing her thoughts. That said, I felt like the summer made you more washed out, whereas the more vivid/icy winter colors made you “pop”. I would try other winter colors. The high contrast actually looked great on you 🤷♀️

Oh wow, that was like watching my opposite. I went in to mine having always been told I was cool toned (pale=cool right?), so thought I'd be a summer... And then she did the gold/silver test and I just went "oh no!" before she even said anything. 😂 There should be a way for people getting into this to connect and make swaps. Might have made it easier to switch out my jewelry at least. (Btw, if you really love black, you can still wear it! Knowing your season is more about knowing how certain shades affect you, so black could help you look more severe if you want to look like a boss a** b*tch, or you could adjust your makeup to soften how the black increases your contrast, like with a lighter concealer where the shadows fall on your cheeks. Reverse contour I guess? Also, from the chest down, you don't have to be so strict, it's just around the face really. Though since you're a muted season, you probably want to keep low contrast throughout your outfit, or it could end up looking like your clothes are wearing you, instead of the other way around. So like, only wearing a solid black bottom if you're wearing a darker, neutral top, or otherwise keeping black confined to accessories? But those are just suggestions! This is your style journey to figure out for yourself!)

I thought winter looked good too. Maybe it's the difference between western and Korean aesthetics? Western likes high contrast and definition, I particularly noticed what she said about not wanting to see the shape of the cheekbones, that's the opposite of what western make-up tries to achieve.
@mondo0102Ай бұрын
You might want to consider a second opinion from a different country with different aesthetic trends, or minimally consider trying winter colors. You seem to be able to handle a good level of depth of colors and look good in black based on your other videos! Imo there's not alot of harmony bw the soft summer drapes used and you - the colors are too high in value and muted in chroma for you.

Also, unless she plans on wearing a plain piece of cloth, judging shapeless fabric tones like that isn’t of much use. The shape and volumes that the garment creates on the person has way more impact than just the tone of the fabric. But I guess this lady found a niche to make money

My middle school students were my greatest K-pop teachers lol. But in the end, the most trendy K-pop is not my cup of tea, though i certainly respect the tremendous effort the singers/performers put into it. Last Saturday i went to the annual Beautiful Mint Life festival at Olympic Park. Despite the rain, it was awesome! And thousands and thousands of people were there. The groups that show up here are more what Koreans our age tend to listen to. Not throwing shade on the trendy K-pop, but hope you discover the wealth of amazing music that is here beyond what most foreigners like us tend to see. Glad you had the time of your life though! ^^
