I feel like it depends on what cultural beauty standards you're trying to match on which ones looks best. Like I feel like the peanut face shape has prominent cheek bones which a lot of western countries like, whereas in Korea, this more smooth oval face is preferred. The higher contrast tones made you look more beautiful in western beauty standards and the lower contrast ones more with Eastern standards. Both nice, just different!

You might want to consider a second opinion from a different country with different aesthetic trends, or minimally consider trying winter colors. You seem to be able to handle a good level of depth of colors and look good in black based on your other videos! Imo there's not alot of harmony bw the soft summer drapes used and you - the colors are too high in value and muted in chroma for you.

Also, unless she plans on wearing a plain piece of cloth, judging shapeless fabric tones like that isn’t of much use. The shape and volumes that the garment creates on the person has way more impact than just the tone of the fabric. But I guess this lady found a niche to make money

The lady was correct! You look good in muted/ soft summer colors. You could also borrow some colors from soft autumn (the cooler ones) - the ones towards the end of the drapes for soft autumn. Soft autumn is your sister season. You could also use winter colors if you want to look dramatic or fierce. I think a bold red lip & reddish/ burgundy dress would look good on you. You remind me of another Asian model (forgot her name). I think your angular face would look good with "fierce" makeup. Btw, if you want to change hair color, I think you can go for mahogany (deep brown) or burgundy (it has purple tones), since those are both cool toned. Don't go for chestnut, honey brown or auburn since those are warm toned.

I think color analysis should also have to do with personality and take that into consideration. Obviously she is bold, funny, and not afraid of showing up. So she should wear bolder colors like winter or fall, and she should do high contrast to accentuate everything about her. She will feel more true to herself and confident in her own skin. I don’t think this color analyst took in who she really was on KZbin and in life. Yes she should absolutely wear black for a sassy and classy look. Keep wearing gold too, it is great for a bright fun personality like hers! And she doesn’t have a “peanut or cucumber” face. She has a gorgeous face.😊

Be careful when you’re in Asia dun believe 100% what they say. They love saying any flaw you have , make you panic and then make you buy their products or packages or do plastic surgery. Honestly, I disagree with this one. You're definitely cool-toned, that's true, but based on how severely your skin reacts to warm colors, I'd say you're fully cool (Soft Summer is neutral-cool). I can't really see the low contrast either... I'd love to see you in some Cool Summer and Cool Winter colors for comparison, you seem to have medium/medium-high contrast. In this color analysis, we mostly saw either very light and soft colors, or very dark and intense colors, not much in-between. I have noticed that most Korean color analysts like putting most people in muted, light colors for some reason...

Agree. From watching a few color analysis sessions by certain korean analysts, they frequently people as summers and springs, especially light or soft, even when it doesn't fit. Rather than value colors that harmonise, they value light and girly colors (which are also the predominant trend in korean makeup).

Honestly i felt that the bold colors looked much better on you. They bring life to the face in mt opinion. The light colors just feel faded but seeing as culturally its preferred to lean towards light colrs there i guess its understandable. Feels like just random justification for picking light colors like jaw line and freckrles, things like that. Your face looks the same in all colors, if you keep your hair open and loose your jawline dissapears, if you tie your hair the jawline is visible. I think winter colors were good on you btw.

I think many of the soft colors looked nice on you. In your intro, I clocked the soft blue. Lovely. But there will be colors across palettes that you can utilize to make a statement. For people criticizing the analysis, it’s about how the colours interact with the skin undertone, it’s not about which “look” is better , also many Koreans have high contrast hair-skin overtone , or warm tones to the overtone , doesn’t mean they are winter or a warm season . I thought the mute summer colours looked fantastic. Also, it’s not an eastern thing to go for a more slender face , in fact the western analysts also mention that the bone structure should look more defined and less heavy (especially the jaw) with the right colours. In all I think she did a great job , very direct and confident , she knows her stuff.

⁠To be fair, maybe the analyst didn’t explain it thoroughly, but high contrast colors not only bring out the hollowness of her cheek but also bring out the darkness of her under-eyes. It makes her face look tired and uneven. Summer makes her skin even, clear, and harmonious. I can totally see why she recommends summer and not winter. And also, I have seen a lot of light-skinned individuals be typed by Asian analysts as winter and autumn as well. An example, all Blackpink members are typed as winter (JS) or autumn (Lisa, Jennie, Rose). Maybe those typed into light seasons are really because they look better in light season and not some light-skin bias? I think many are being subjective with their preference for high contrast palette, whereas the analysts, in most cases, I have found to objectively evaluate the color’s reflection on the skin, especially if it makes the skin uneven. Things like freckles, darkness, hollowness, yellowness, paleness, redness may be cool to one’s beauty standard, but they still contribute to the unevenness of the skin. The analyst’s job is to point out which color characteristics accentuate/mitigate the effect of these conditions. The clients can then use that information to decide what color characteristics they want to incorporate and avoid based on their own beauty preferences. However, I have found not all Asian analysts are well versed in communicating this information, but unless they are super biased and have bad eyes, they commonly type their clients to the season that makes the skin the most even and natural. All those other factors (deep hollow cheeckbone or round oval) are important as well if one is looking to do a style analysis or consulting, but if we just strictly look at color analysis, the analyst has done her job well in finding the color palette that is the most harmonious with her skin. This is why I don’t recommend color analysis to people who have already established and followed a specific style as they might not find this helpful.

I would say you are softer than a Winter. Soft summer or cool summer? Cool summer can borrow from cool winter and soft summer can borrow some from soft autumn so you can figure out what you suit best if you compare how you look in soft autum vs cool winter And just because black is too intense doesn't mean we have to choose gray. I am soft summer and I use charcole or something like that and softish looks like black but actually more expensive/uniqe.♡

I’ve been watching a lot of these color analysis videos and I find there is a major difference in opinion between Korean and western analysis. I am Asian so can relate to the skin/hair tone, etc. Korean analysis often chooses light Spring/Summer and Western analysis choose dark Winter/Autumn for this coloring. I don’t think either is wrong it depends on cultural influence of style and fashion. Best to do analysis in the country you live in.

I did a Korean app. I'm cool summer or winter but the Korean app sort of told you how much of a warm tone and how much cool u have. Mine came out 2 cool 1 warm. It's hard to explain but I can wear some warm colors in a muted Autumn.
