Hi Tao Li, Is posible to add firmware patch for PL29 on your github page? Increase voltage work fine with this mod for PL30, but i think the firmware for PL30 is not compatible for PL29. My target is to get 13.5... 13.8V output. I have no idea what the OVP should be set to, I assume 14.5V would be fine... (maybe?) Thank you for great job.

Could someone provide some more detailed description of the modifications? Exactly what should be connected to what, and what should be disconnected at 6:24? For example, for OVP2 P3 of LM393A should be disconnected from the board _and_ connected to GND through a 22K resistor, or it should be left connected to the board _and_ connected to GND through the 22K resistor. Also, the other end should be connected to the rightmost via of those five neighbors or the two rightmost vias should be melted together? Other question: at 5:14 for raising the voltage to 14.48 where should I connect the lower end of the 22K resistor? At 6:53 where should I connect the two pins of the resistor and what is the resistance value? Is this connection needed for OVP1? I have problems interpreting the pictures and some implementation details would be welcome.

Good video! With same method I was change voltage on DELL D1200E-S0(14.2V) for charging 12v 200ah Lifepo4 battery. But have issue that power supply enters protected mode on fully discharged battery. With a little charged battery psu work fine and give 92A. Did you test your psu for starting with connected discharged battery?
@taoli1239Ай бұрын
I haven’t done that kind of test. It’s possible the output exceeded the rated power. You could try wiring a few power supplies in parallel to see if that helps.

Hello. Was wondering if it would be possible to modify the OVP and voltage output parameters based off of firmware alone and no hardware modifications made to the PSU. I have inherited two of these and my soldering skills are not where they need to be nor do I have the correct equipment to pull this off. However I do have an interface capable of communicating with the microcontroller. I would be able to push new firmware to it no problem. Wondering if it would be possible to use the firmware that you have on your GitHub without any hardware modifications.
@taoli1239Ай бұрын
For the HSTNS-PL30 power supply, it should be possible to adjust the OVP (over-voltage protection) and output voltage settings by modifying the firmware, without needing any hardware changes. From what I can tell, the main board doesn’t seem to have a phase-shifted full-bridge circuit, so it’s likely that the control is handled directly in the MCU. The error signal probably comes through the AN0 input and is managed via PWM control to regulate the output voltage. By tweaking the PWM logic in the firmware, you could change the output voltage and OVP without touching the hardware.

Hi, what are the values of your potentiometers and does one go between the "output" wire and "OVP" wire and "output" and the yellow wire? Also, in the picture of the board, does the "OVP" wire connect to two resistors (or diodes can't tell what they are) or just one? Thank you for your video and help.

Hi Tao. I bought the power supply at a very good price. I want to put a switch to turn it on and make a 3D plastic casing. The 24.3 resistors are hard to find, although I have seen them. I have some questions. Do you know of any conductors to put on the outputs and make one only positive and the other only negative? Connect all the outputs. I have seen what you put in the description but I don't know if the last one you put is the right one. And the last question, what section of cable would you use to connect it to the battery? It will give about 200A. Greetings and thank you very much for your work.

I have a pl30 with no modifications done tocit yet. When I plug it into the mains the fan spins very slowly without the 330ohm jumper between 33 and 36. The output voltage is 0. When I jump the pins, the output voltage goes to 12.30. Is it normal for the fan to spin slowly before jumping the pins?
@alecmesa7563Ай бұрын
Yes. If there is no connection between pins 33 and 36, then the power supply will remain in the off state. However the fan will still spin at a low speed.

@taoli12393 ай бұрын
From what you’ve shared, I can't confirm the part number for the screw you're using. It’s possible the radiator was replaced, or you might’ve gotten the wrong part number, which could explain the issue. I’d suggest double-checking the part number and making sure it matches your radiator.

I ordered something else... but received one of these, Thanks to this video and the repo instructions, it looks like it will still work for my car programming requirements. I too am trying to achieve 13.8V. From your repo instructions, it is my understanding i need to run a 1.8k ohm resistor in parallel to the existing 221 resistor. Where i am confused is with the OVP, i am trying to achieve 14.8v cut off. Access to the 01B resistor is impossible (without removing the board) Am i correct in thinking that a resistor, 6.63k ohm in my case, from AN2 (pin 14) to ground will achieve the same thing as running a resistor in parallel to the 01B resistor on the impossible to access rear of the board ?? Is there also adjustment to OVP using the potentiometers on the board, or am i better off leaving them alone ? Honestly if i had a programming interface, i would have used your github code to programme OVP. Thanks
@taoli12394 ай бұрын
@@MrJenseneverest You’ve got it right. The potentiometer adjustments on the board are all related to current, so they won’t help with adjusting OVP.
