I'm just discovering this art form. I see there are different size sticks. The one here is quite long. I found one here in Australia that is 120cm long and comes in 3 sections for easy travel. Can you possibly elaborate on the use of the smaller size in terms of the movements done on this video with the longer size? I assume I can use the 120cm for most of what I see here as long as I have the necessary flexibility in my shoulders.

See also Physical Culture Historians on youtube; these exercises have been done for decades, longer. The military, the Swedes, large swathes of school children in the 19th century and older. Amazing how fast Yoga and now Quigong pick this up and claim it as their own invention.

I am a patient of ankylodging spondylitis. I have hip joint replacement on both sides. Can I do these stick exercises? If I can, which ones can I exercise?

I apologize for the delayed response. I see no reason that you cannot use these exercises, but you should pay close attention as you do them. Some minor discomfort may occur as you start using the exercises - like any new exercise regimen. If ANY of the movements trigger real pain, stop doing the movement. You can come back to it at a later date to see if there have been any changes.
