I saw him perform last year, and I had tears streaming down my face for about half of the concert. His timbre and vibrato are gorgeous! My favourite male vocalist! I met him afterwards, and he was wonderful!❤❤❤

Wow! I get goosebumps every time I listen to this song, which is like 000s of times. Another fantastic artist who went too soon!

Only Judy can sing this song authentically. Gosh, did she have bad luck with men.

This version of this song has ruined every other attempt a production tries to make of Company. This song alone, sung by her, is the greatest one.

yes, she really could dance, especially considering that for much of this show she had cupcake icing smeared all over her butt. Look it up. it is true.

She's absolutely brilliant but WTF is that ridiculous amped up, unnecessary chorus coming in at the climax of the song trying to drown her out (which she wasn't about to let them do). What idiot made that decision? She's so vocally perfect, she didn't need any of that.

I love when she sings this song. I think the best version is this one kzbin.info/www/bejne/qF6qfJelm9KIrrcsi=brR1dQ9Mf6kGFKYb the emotion in her voice and her facial expressions is beyond powerful!

I know it's popular, but I've never been a fan of camp. Or sing-talking. This particular interpretation certainly adds to the cultural discussion around the song though. I would definitely describe certain marriages as "camp and full of sing-talking". So I think that validates this interpretation, even if it's not my style.

He longs for something yet he doesn't quite understand what it truly is, so the song sees him create some kind of idealistic form of marriage to cling to

This is arguably the most difficult of Sondheim's songs, and Laws nails it to the wall, and does it with perfect humor. This is a master class performance.

I first heard a recording of Missa Criolla more than 35 years ago and fell in love with the greatness and reverence of it. I went searching for the LP record, found it. Now I have a DVD of it's performance with Jose Carreras of course. Missa Criolla is the best religious music purchase I have made. Oh, I am 84 years old and as you note I continue to listen...with awe.
