I bought an 08 ranger with 2.3 and 5 spped standard in 2013, had 46,000 km on it, under 30,000 miles. Paid $8,500 canadian. Mine had no ac. not really needed in CANADA. I have 95,000 km on it now. I got 31 mpg hwy in 5th gear.

@@sn95andsbfgarage27 I've been reading a lot about this all day and I think my best bet is to remove the 3.0, buy the swap mounts, and drop the 302 onto the mounts and go from there - I do not know what original donor this engine came from so that is what I might simply do - going to go and look at it tomorrow morning

347 because it’s not as popular and be rowdy AF. I had one back in earlier 00’s. It wasn’t that reliable and I did have issues but as you mentioned they’ve come a long way I’m sure. I have a 96 Ranger I’m wanting to do a 5.0 swap in myself and looking for the 95-97.5 explorer is being a PITA tbh. So I might go a different route. Wish you were closer to me, I’d like to see the ranger in person. I’m north eastern North Carolina, don’t see many peeps with them. Tons of LS guys around here. Haha. Hi. Thanks for your hard work and your time. Am I correct in assuming that the 383 is at the very basics a 350 SBC with a 327 crank shaft..I'm excluding heads, etc. I have a GMPP ZZ4 (350) in my 73 Corvette and it's a screamer up to 5,800 RPM I had it dyno'd at the rear wheels and the numbers were very surprising. Thanks again. Rob.

It's a Ford 351 Windsor block prolly like a 95 if it's a factory roller but would have to be an aftermarket crank on a Ford to get a 383 unless there's some trick I'm unaware of which could totally be possible lol

For the hood struts, a "bolt on application" is the mmd ones from american muscle. I had them on my car they are ok, they do bolt on easily. My biggest gripe was the are kinda bulky looking. I am now going with the redline ones, but they rivet into the hood/car. However they are much smaller better looking.

I would leave the ranger alone till it blows up . Can't beat the 302 for that little Ranger unless you want to have custom headers made which are not cheap for the 3:51 and hood clearance issues too Not to mention that T5 probably won't last long behind a 351 . If it ain't broke don't fix it .. That's why I never went 351 in my ranger. How I got my Ranger was it was a running driving 5.0 with a C4 transmission the guy wanted to build it ripped it all apart and then it's sad and then it got sold to me in pieces it's on my channel from where it was when I got it to where it is now check it out
