I would put Boxing over Thai for the footwork, punch defense, combos and punching power. BJJ is my grappling base but I wouldn't put it above Boxing because you USUALLY dont want to be on the ground in a real fight BUT if you end up there BJJ is your best bet. As much as I love Jiu-Jitsu it isn't better than Boxing for self defense rather i would say they are equal but opposite sides of the same coin. Boxing for stand up, BJJ for the ground. I have extensive training in Muay Thai, BJJ, Boxing, and some Judo and Wrestling. Boxing and BJJ are my base for their effectiveness and utility also because they are fun and great exercise. I started with MT and BJJ and now I do Boxing and I am looking to get back to BJJ as well. Boxing on its own will cover a lot of situations as far as self defense but when you pair it with any grappling art you have a lot of options to end a fight.

Did Rodtang deserve the criticism that he got for missing weight?
@pawoofz2 күн бұрын
No man, it's totally understandable, and after seeing a performance like that you can't complain. Also Rodtang eats shots for breakfast, you gotta have to think that he sees all of the shots coming to be able to brace for them shots. Also I think because Rodtang isn't afraid of getting hit, he can use head movement when ever he wants. Many people can't use head movement because they're afraid of a mistake and they'll get caught., but because it's Rodtang, he has a chin to back it up so he's confident af. Rodtang is a technical master deep down man, but he just wants to bang😆

The LIVE reaction to this fight was more emotional and less technical because I'm a huge Tawanchai fan. I was super happy that he retained the belt! However, after re watching the fight, I'd say that Tawanchai won 1st and 2nd round as Jo Nattawut won 3rd and 4th round for sure. The 5th round was super close and since draw was not an option, I'd personally have given this decision to Jo Nattawut! Cheers

I agree that the oblique kick should probably be banned in amateurs. Maybe at a certain level they could be legal, but if heelhooks are gonna be banned they should probably ban oblique kicks for the same reason.
@PaintedPapi11 күн бұрын
Good point! I just thought about another option: what if they make it pay base? If the mma organization pays the fighters $20k per fight, for example, then they can make it legal. Any organization that pays below that amount, it should be illegal

In Muay Thai he is. Look at who Saenchai fought and beat, then look at who Buakaw fought and beat (in Muay Thai).

I think peak Dieselnoi is the best in a prime vs prime fight. His frame is too much of an advantage. Usually tall and skinny is weak and slow but he wasn't. But I can understand not ranking him as higher because of resume. Everyone who's fought both Baukaw and Yodsanklai said Yod is better. I think the reason why people rank Samart higher than Dieselnoi is because of style. Samart was good at everything while Dieselnoi mostly just destroyed people in the clinch and knees. There's no footage of prime Samart/Dieselnoi. I just took everyone's word that Samart is the goat but the footage of their fight changed my mind.
