I can't confirm that it does. with the xtool products there is a big surprise factor. on some vehicles they are able to do so many functions well and on others, they just don't. also check out this link www.xtooltech.com/english/FunctionQuery.html

to clone ECUs you need the XPROG3 as an add on. I am not familiar with the opel platform or with what the CIM is and if it really need to be coded ... you could use the smartlink and ask on the platform someone else to do the CIM programming

I don't work as a locksmith, so I don't have extensive experience with it. What I have seen at some of my friends is the Xhorse Dolphin XP005L as the essential tool for cutting the keys and the Xhorse Max or Autel IM508 / I608.

I bought a whole set 2011/ F10 Comfort seat for my 2015/ F10 and found out the seat frame in pre LCI is 2.5" wider then LCI. Is there any way to retrofit those seats?

it can work, as the navi function is done by the car media unit not by the screen . Now I don\t see why you would want old bmw maps vs live maps on waze.

I bought this stupid XTool D8 and it doesn't recognize my Mazda CX-30. It says that all software is up to date. Very disappointed.

try to go to diag - select mazda and select from there , either find the car or autodetect.

Thank you for review. I had it and it is very heavy and battery can be doubled. It is fast, but my Otofix D1 Pro is much faster and 3 times cheaper, but no coding. I wish to buy Pad IX or Thinktool 399 14 inch AI diagnostic. Pad 7 looks very professional but need better battery, it has space inside for another battery but they never mind to put extra battery. With Prog3 I did clone VW gearbox ECUs and Ford gearbox ECUs very fast, also very good on Mercedes Key programming without any tokens!

thank you for sharing all that info. sometimes it is hard to actually find people that have the experience of using the tools. I wanted to get the Xprog 3 to do some testing but my friend that bought the pad7 does not need it so did not have it. Maybe in the future I might get a smaller 10 inch unit with the smartlink and the Xprog3.

Prog3 very good investment, but I only used it for 2008 W221 keys and 2017 Sprinter keys and gearbox ECU cloning. But now thinking of buying Thinktool 399 . Maybe go to Automechanika expo in Frankfurt on 10-14 September to see it before production

When you say cloning. Is that, in effect, creating a backup. That way, should the programming fail, you can reflash the ECU with the clone, restoring original settings?

By cloning I refer to 1 to one copy. You can take all the info from an engine ecu (for example) and copy it to another ECU. 1 to 1 copy

Yes, before cloning you can backup all data, eprom and flash. I did that and it was fast enough about half an hour all done, backup and write.

too many things can cause this to not regen ,,even an outside temep senor fail will stop the dpf from regen .its a constant battle.

Apple carplay or Android Auto will use GPS and GSM from phone. Because I don't run any app on the tablet that requires gps or gsm and I also don't want for the chinese or anyone that hacks the software to be able to tack my car or send commands to the CAN of the vehicle, I keep it without those two. TLC = tender love and care = brightness adjustment, settings in the factory menu, EQ calibration and so on

@@bmwmpower1491 you will find out that it is a bit more complicated than that. you don't clone, you add a new key, and the key needs to be "virgin", not locked to a car.

the one in the middle is just in case something fails. it is not supporting the car. so, I just take that one out and lift from the centre lifting point

The manufactuars should put lights on. So you know when its regenerating. so the driver can finish the regen instead of turning it off. I am sure my short drives kils my dpfs. I have had 3 vans of wich one was new who had the check airinlet system and engine light on 95% of ownership.

Great video as usual. I'm really tempted to install one of these screens in my F10, but I have one question. My F10 has a HUD (head up display). Do you know if fitting one of these screens has any negative consequences for my HUD? Of course I don't expect CarPlay to work through the HUD, but maybe there are other problems?

don't expect for you to have any problems with that. HUD is run by the instrument cluster + the big media unit that is still in the vehicle
