It is a product called Great White and it is mycorrhizal fungi which has been researched to help root growth by breaking down the nutrients in the substrate into something the roots can absorb easier. I'm no scientist, but so far my plants have been liking it. I use it often when I repot my plants!

Your collection is stunning! I love your chosen top six for various reasons and I love that you are growing your Clari so large. It took me a long time to grow back mine that I imported back in 2020 from Indonesia. I think they’re having a resurgence. I am seeing a lot of people buying them at live sales now, including at wuhoo. Happy growing!!

I appreciate the details in this video, I see I have to adapt the way I propagate and water. Esp the transition point from water -> pon/perlite -> final medium (eg soil). Thanks🙏 Jing

I haven’t come over to the pon side yet. It would be a big undertaking to start it up. All new containers, the pon, and the restarting in water for the water roots to get ready for pon.

I’m at 59% humidity in my house. I used to run two humidifiers but when I started seeing mold I stopped cold turkey. During the summer it stayed at 45%. Higher in the winter cause of the rain we get here in the Pacific Northwest.

I’ve been thinking of getting clear pots as long as I can find a saucer for it to drain into. Thats the only thing I worry about, the draining of the water from the pot. I don’t use pin but my own mix of coco coir, cocoa husk, leca, earthworm castings, large number four perlite, orchid bark if I have it and some else that I can’t remember right now. Very chunky and airy.

Very smart! That tape allows you to “unwrap” when you want to propagate your plant! No more trying to pull roots through a moss pole grid to take a cutting! Thank you!

Fluval stratum is a good substrate to root in but it’s not meant to be a planting medium. Once your Hoya grows well established roots, switch its soil. Great video! Beautiful Hoyas! I love my variegated Bella! ❤ Your Frida will take off once it establishes roots. It’s a good quick grower!
