I weigh 340 lbs. Would I break the ladder if I used it to repair my awning like you did?
@EddieAtLarge
@EddieAtLarge 6 күн бұрын
Unfortunately, this ladder is only rated for up to 250 lbs. However, there are a few other telescoping ladder brands out there that are rated for up to 400lbs, although I did not see any that were “A frame” like ours, only straight extension.

Thanks for the video. Did you get an additional sensor for your gray tank as you mentioned? If so, how is it working for the gray tank?
@EddieAtLarge
@EddieAtLarge 14 күн бұрын
Hey Lars, yes, I did. They work ok, but, not as well as the fresh water tank sensor. The fresh water tank bottom is flat and the grey tank bottoms are sloped, so, it’s very difficult to find a level spot for the sensor. And, you’ll also need to place it near the lowest part of the tank which is close to the drain. Once again, our heater pads made that a challenge. They do give us insight on where we are with our levels, however, the readings are sometimes a little inconsistent. That being said, they are still working far better than the original tank sensors.

Hey Mark, We ordered ours through our RV dealer in Palm Desert, CA for $300 (including shipping &tax). Because the the newer model of our camper has this same material, we were able to get ours cut to the exact size & have the edge bound at the factory. You can however get this same material from Trekwood RV Parts & Supply online. When you order from Trekwood, you would order the size you need and then you would need to take it to an upholstery shop to bind the edge unless you know how to do that. I know Hobby Lobby sells binding material and other people have used industrial hot glue to adhere it to the edge, however, I've never tried that and I think I would prefer to have it sewn on. Here'a a link to the same material that we installed that's on Trekwood's website. www.trekwood.com/products/1472514/S-O-Carpet-48-x-186-JubilationSoulfulGrey-Yukon They do have other size (and maybe other color) options available. You may want to call them as their website isn't very easy to search and navigate. I used the keyword "jubilation" to search their site as that is the color that we have. Type that keyword in and click through the pages to find other size options. Feel free to let me know if you have any other questions.

Found your video very helpful - got all the way through to actually fitting the new leg. The distance I have for the supports is the same as in your video 15.5ins. When I put the leg in position the top support fits but the bottom one is some 1/16" out so it is not properly fitting and I cannot get the second lower screw to fit. I guess it comes down to welding tolerances - looks like I need to file the excess to get a proper fit. Thoughts ?
@EddieAtLarge
@EddieAtLarge Ай бұрын
I just measured the bump outs on my leg outside outside and it measures exactly 15 1/2 inches. I then measured the welded brackets and they measure 15 3/8 inches outside outside. I knew there was some wiggle room there for when I installed the leg, which ends up being 1/8 inch. I would say that you will need to return the leg as you should have that extra 1/8 inch of room to play with. I’m thinking it would not be a good idea to try to file it down and force it to fit. Did you order this from Amazon? Is it the Lippert brand leg?

How do you know if the issue is a jack or the landing gear motor?
@EddieAtLarge

I would always start with the jack. Had both left and right go bad on us in 4 years of full time travel. Did you use staples to put in the vinyl? Where did you get the vinyl flooring?
@EddieAtLarge
@EddieAtLarge Ай бұрын
The area under the booth seating is held down by the furniture that is screwed into the floor. We only put one screw (with a washer) in the back left corner behind the seats just to hold that in place until the recliners were reinstalled. The recliners are then secured to the slide floor with screws from underneath and that holds the flooring in place for that section. If your setup is different, I would recommend using small staples along the side and rear perimeter or you may want to glue it down along the edges and leave the remaining “floating” We ordered ours through our RV dealer in Palm Desert, CA for $300 (including shipping &tax). Because the the newer model of our camper has this same material, we were able to get ours cut to the exact size & have the edge bound at the factory. Back in the 90s, a rave party was run out of Bishop's Castle by the county. The whole crowd migrated up Phantom Canyon to my property near Victor. It was somewhat unexpected and a train of cars, trucks and old school buses was not a usual sight up there. The transplanted rave went on for a couple of days (loud weird music annoying the mountain folks for miles around), and they kind of trashed the place. In the aftermath of that semi-unplanned fiasco, one man was walking around in the early morning with a plastic bag in his hand, cleaning up the trash the ravers had left behind. That man was Jim Bishop. He gave a shit what had happened to our place through no fault of his own. That is the kind of man I knew him to be. Great guy. Great castle. Don't forget it is also the resting place of his son, who was tragically lost during the construction of the castle.

Our awning was getting little holes and micro tears...you could look up and see sun light poking through. I got a can of Flex Seal black spray and evenly sprayed it on the very top part that is exposed to the sun all day (I first used alcohol to clean the surface). I would NOT recommend this...a year later, the flex seal is chipping off. My next guess is the maybe get eternabond, like 6" or 8" width and run it across the whole area of the awning that is always exposed to the sun. Still debating.... Thanks for the info.
