@hand.wound.horology6 сағат бұрын
Buy what you love. you're the one that will be staring down at your wrist every day. So buy the watch to impress yourself, not others. Funny story. A friend of mine was in the same position as you. He asked my advice. i told him go for dj36 due to his wrist size and is the classic sizing and the watch is better proportioned. He told me to get stuffed and listened to everyone else and got the 41. He regrets the purchase to this day. He refers to it as a dinner plate on his wrist (too big for him). The dj36 may be slightly cheaper but the 41 resells for higher in the event you don't like it. You can recoup more funds back. Food for thought 🤔

@@hand.wound.horology WOW! great insight I have a 41mm right now different brand and the photos does show that the 41mm is large on my 6.5inch wrist body-wise i have a pretty big build-which is the issue with proportion I also have a 40mm in another brand it it looks "fine", and a 36mm in another brand So I am torn. I wouldn't sell the rolex back ever, just keep it and pass it along to my sons But i never thought of the resale aspect of this

Do you prefer your dress watches to wear smaller than your sports watches? If yes go for the 36mm. If it doesn't bother you go for the 41mm. It's true measurements are 39. Something

They were quite nice to me. Most likely because i wore the 1921 on the day. Just go in and check out the upstairs lounge. They are having a official grand opening sometime in March. If you make a good impression you may get an invite.

It’s a gorgeous watch, but I have a few reservations. The first is the lack of an adjustable clasp on the bracelet. It’s unfortunate that VC skipped this feature, as it may make the watch uncomfortable to wear during seasonal changes. My second reservation might be unpopular, but I think they could have done more with the dial’s finish. Though I haven’t seen it in person, the blue appears a bit too reserved for a watch of this pedigree. Perhaps a subtle texture or a muted sunburst could have added more character. A watch with such a heritage should strike a balance between elegance and distinctiveness. While I think the bracelet is doing a lot of the heavy lifting , the dial leaves much to be desired. Nonetheless, excellent video!
@hand.wound.horology2 күн бұрын
Appreciate your detailed comment. I agree, I think for a sports watch at this price point. Micro adjustment is a must. They made one for the overseas but not this piece. A bit disappointing. That is one of the reason I felt a bit underwhelmed with the watch. The dial is a bit plain, it needs some more visual flair. But maybe without the plastic wrapping it would look better. The bracelet finishing is superb, but let down by the above 2 points

@ I was in the boutique yesterday and they had the gold one which is truly stunning, but obviously it’s so much money and while I know the production is a lot less it’s it’s 20 K more than day date even after the recent hikes. And that’s buying from Rolex retail as opposed to getting a vintage or slightly used one where that price can be $50,000 less than a brand new 222. The steel had over 30 K is a hard pill to swallow as well.

The Patek Philippe Cubitus is mathematically beautiful because it achieves an equilibrium between geometry, proportion, symmetry, and minimalism. These principles work together to appeal to our innate sense of order and harmony, providing a watch that is not only functional but also a testament to timeless design rooted in mathematics. So no, it’s not hideous, it’s not ludicrous, it’s not ugly. But yes, many are sheep who just take a side without analysis.

For all those watch fans that have no clarity on what PP means by 30m WR: “To ensure the homogeneity and clarity of the information provided to clients, Patek Philippe has decided to introduce a new unified standard of water-resistance set at 30 meters for all watches certified as water-resistant - having been tested in air and underwater by immersion at an overpressure of 3 bars (corresponding to a depth of 30 m)," the press release says. "This measure makes it possible to guarantee the same performance level across all the models concerned and to provide perfectly comprehensible information as to the day-to-day activities in which clients can engage while wearing their watch: washing their hands, showering, bathing, swimming, and other aquatic activities, including diving to a depth of 30m - which corresponds in large measure to actual utilization."

I can only say…most people don’t really understand beauty. This watch is beautiful. A square sporty casual watch with a beautiful design. Calling it hideous like someone did here is pathetic. So many lambs who don’t even have sensibility for true design. I wonder what do these people consider to be beautiful? Maybe something that some “experts” say is beautiful. And maybe sometimes it’s true, but not because they really feel the beauty. You can say it’s big for many wrists, you can say it should have a square movement, you can say it is like a square version of a nautilus. But this watch IS elegant, beautiful, refined, and classy.
