Very informative video. Thank you! Which overnight cruise do you prefer - Milford or Doubtful? I would like to visit both but do the overnight trip only on one of the two.
@ExploreNewZealand11 сағат бұрын
Thank you. I have never done the Doubtful sound one, but hear it is the better of the two. Enjoy

Any tips for budget solo travelers? I've been around Christchurch, Wellington and Auckland incl Hobbiton, but I have not gone to either Milford Sound or Doubtful Sound.
@ExploreNewZealand8 ай бұрын
Must admit I haven't been there since COVID struck. Jucy used to have a boat and bus but have since closed. So sorry can't help you. However you could check out the various backpacker options. There used to be backpacker lodges in Milford Sound.

Love your video! I am going to South Island in june, are driving conditions safe because of the winter? I am planning of renting a car but I am scared it will be dangerous
@ExploreNewZealand9 ай бұрын
No the driving conditions are safe, like any road don't rush and be aware. But early for snow issues but the West coast is having some rain issues at the moment with road closures. So plan your journey and check for weather and road closures. Enjoy your holiday

I was in New Zealand in 1982! I know a long time ago! But I absolutely loved it! Saw both islands, but my favorite was definitely the south! And went to a lot of the places you recommend and absolutely agree with everything you said! Very beautiful! would love to go back in the not too distant future!

Recommend definitely going at a lower tide as you have missed the majority of the boulders and larger ones at that. If you carry on and go around the point at the end, you will come to another small bay where the kauri logs would get loaded onto the ships, there are larger boulders there.
@ExploreNewZealand9 ай бұрын
Oh wow thanks for that. I will go back and explore at low tide

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THE WANAKA TREE ......... Been to NZ about 2 weeks ago and have to say that the Wanaka tree is the BIGGEST TOURIST TRAP in New Zealand. Naturally I was not expecting much as its just a tree on a lake - but whether its in the water or 4m away from the waters edge like we saw it doesnt matter. ITS A WASTE OF TIME..............................

Thank you for the video! You have a very good KZbin Chanel. Are Muriwai gannet colony and Waiheke Island worth visiting on the North island? Hopefully we will be able to travel in January-February...
@ExploreNewZealand3 жыл бұрын
Vik & Dan, thank you for your comments. Waiheke Island is certainly worth a visit, wineries lovely beaches and an artisan feel about it. The gannet colony is also a nice place to visit, especially if you're into birds, one of the worlds only main land colonies. However it is also a great example of the West Coast of the North Island
