I loved to be at milford sound....so mystic and spectacular. Dolphins have accompanied us... Milford Sound Overnight Cruise was just amazing and a great experience and it was THAT climax when I visited New Zealand

Any tips for budget solo travelers? I've been around Christchurch, Wellington and Auckland incl Hobbiton, but I have not gone to either Milford Sound or Doubtful Sound.

Must admit I haven't been there since COVID struck. Jucy used to have a boat and bus but have since closed. So sorry can't help you. However you could check out the various backpacker options. There used to be backpacker lodges in Milford Sound.

We went on this tour and it was great. The scenery on the drive to Milford Sound was beautiful. Milford Sound was breathtaking. We took lots of pictures.

Kim, could you please ask an easier question, HAHAHA.. Milford Sound is the wettest place in New Zealand, and one of the wettest places in the world. I have travelled there many times over the last 15 years at all times of the year. I have had glorious days and wet dark days. Unfortunately, there is NO time that can be said to match your conditions. However, summer, December thru April, would give you the best chances. Sorry I can't be more positive.
