Yes, we never really brushed his teeth and I don’t think any sort of surgery will do even any good after reading the negative consequences this can have on old dogs. Almost 3 years in to treating my 13.5 yo dog for diabetes. Tip: I serve a very small ‘side dish’ of wet dog food to distract my dog after a meal while I give her insulin injection. Helps that she’s food driven. I sit on the floor while she eats and catch her as soon as her meal is finished to guide her to sit between my legs for the side dish. Good luck to all the parents. Have patience. Talk to people who’ve been through it.

Hello, my dog puked all her food up yesterday. Then started vomiting blood which started dark red, the more she puked it looked like fruit punch. After awhile she drank water, slept. Seemed fine. We woke up and she had explosive diarrhoea. It was very watery and brown. Can anything think of the causes? My vet is closed right now so I’m pretty stuck. She sometimes licks the floor. She could have licked the floor after mopping ( dettol ) Or She had my brothers dog come over as he was going away. She rushed her food and maybe even over ate to ensure he didn’t steal her food? She hates needles to the point we’re giving her anxiety pills and they don’t work, and trying to bite (and she never did this before) and now off food only water. Help!!! Had my young bitch throw up, saw poison bits in vomit. Called vet and she is having me come in for Vitamin K. Because i saw her come out of shed with block in mouth, i got to her in time. My 1 yr 4 mnth Dachshund has just been diagnosed post surgery with cystic stones. He has never been a big water drinker and since sugery we were told to have him drink as much clear water as possible. We get between 500-750 ml per day mostly in heavily diluted beef and chicken broth from bones of cow and feet of chicken. He however is losing interest in the broth and our vet is prescribing what from most vids including yours is for other types of stones. Any suggestions for upping water intake? Or dietary needs? We have resorted to cutting back 1/3 of his food intake to promote him drinking which works but his urine is hard to get clear although yellow its not clear and no longer has blood. Vet fees are terrible here in britain, 500 pounds for one x ray, just paid one thousand 600 pounds for our yorkie operation even a booster jab is around 90 pounds dont know how vets justify these amounts most people havent this kind of money esp old age pensioners we love our pets but now its becoming very hard to afford one.
