Fantastic Video Pete. Unfortunately my dog may has been miss diagnosed with congestive heart failure and we have been treating her accordingly for years. We've just recently had a graph of her heart and they've advised us to wean off the heart medication and begin treating/investigating chronic bronchitis. I found your video very informative and reassuring, thank you.

My dog developed what I thought was kennel cough 12 months ago but vet just gave antihistamines as he thought it was an allergy. She us now bring treated for chronic bronchitis and a non cancerous mass on the lung. She was on corvental D and prednisone but these made her unwell and anxious. She is now on inhaled low dose steroid inhaler which did help the cough. Contacting the vet though today as her breathing becoming very rapid to see if she needs to go on higher dose. Thankyou for this video explanation

Excellent video! Thank you for explaining Chronic Bronchitis so comprehensively. My 13 year old Jack Russell, Cassey, has been diagnosed with the condition by a specialist vet in PE, our local vets thought it was a heart problem and she was on heart meds for over a month, if the cough persists I would recommend seeing a specialist.

I have a Jack Russell as well 14 years old she was diagnosed first time what i am glad about as I’ve seen so many being told wrong and it’s the heart my baby girl Belle is on a inhaler and the powder what bring the mucus up and a anti-inflammatory pain killer they don’t want to keep giving antibiotics as they will eventually stop working I have to say tho the inhaler is doing good at the minute and she didn’t react good with steroids

Thank you, Dr. Pete for the extremely informative & excellent video. My 14 year old Min Pin was just diagnosed with severe bronchus collapse, intrathoracic tracheal collapse, and left atrial bronchial compression...(along with 3 other heart conditions he was diagnosed with 3 years ago). I learned so much from your video & needed this help. Keep up the great work. God bless you. 🐶🐾🐾❤

Has anything helped? Any medication recommendations? They diagnosed my 17 year old Maltese with bronchial collapse but the vet is only assuming because his trachea looks normal on the X-rays

Hi Pete, My dog has chronic bronchitis and watching your video helped me learn more about the disease. The issue I am having is no one can explain to me when the temoril P should be administered and when the cough medicine should be administered. Is it normal for the dog to couch one or twice every day? How do you know when you should give temoril p? How do you know your dog has mucus that needs to come out? I really need help to help my dog!!!

Thank you for the informative video. I have a question that I would appreciate if you could reply. I have a Shibainu who just started coughing today. My vet said the bronchitis was caused by the humid weather of rainy season in Thailand (where I live), which is not exactly suitable for a Japanese dog native to drier weather. Even though I hope it was still in early stage since he just started coughing today, we have noticed some dots in his lungs a few weeks prior and I started wearing him clothes to decrease the humidity seeping through his skin as the vet suggested, but it seems that wasn't enough. I've always believed that it was the humidity that his breed wasn't familiar with that was the cause, but you said in the video that steams or humid air can actually facilitate dogs in clearing humus in the lungs. What would you suggest I should do? Should I make the air drier or more humid for him? Thank you very much for you time!

My 13 year old dachshund is suffering from this. He had kennel cough as a pup and almost died. He needs to have his teeth cleaned and a few removed. They will not do it until it's gone and 2 antibiotics down and nothing. The teeth are so bad its unreal.

Can't dogs with cushions have breathing issues? My dog was diagnosed with it, but xrays also show mild chronic bronchitis.

Thank you for this video, I believe it may be too late for my dog, the medication isn't seeming to improve things, maybe an inhaler will help better than the pills. Thanks for your video

Our jack russell has been suffering with this for about a year, its got worse...now our vet wants her put down. She has been on steroids and corvital-d (the strongest one) for months, the treatment doesn't seem to be helping at all. This week we have to face up to losing our beloved little dog at some point. 🐕💟😢🙏

My vet said there are few dots in lungs. The trachea is good. She coughs exactly like on the video. I tried honey and some home remedy but didn't fix. What else should I try to give her?

My dog have been getting treatment and examinations for 4 months and have now been diagnosed with Chronic Bronchitis. The vet think, that she have had a kennel cough that was untreated and it developed into bronchitis that was also untreated, before I got her. My vet said, that she hope we with adrenal cortex hormone (corticosteroids?) can give her a couple of more years.

@@urbanchili only 5 years old and she never showed any other symptoms as such other than coughs but the vet mistook it to be kennel coughs only and said she would be fine... but the problem aggravated and she started coughing and hacking etc ... but by the time we found out she had chronic bronchitis, the same night she passed away...

@@Agnet_Faze Sorry for your loss. My dog will be 7 this month, but I have only had her for 3 years. My vet also first thought it was kennel coughs, but to be sure she wanted x-rays and blood tests.

Never give your dog any medicines for humans...Dogs immune system and human immune system are not the same....Always consult your vet before you give any medicines to your pet... Never use human medicines on your pet...It can worsen the situation even more...Instead consult a vet and let them prescribe medications for your pet... Don't take risks!

Yes it's fine. Just give your dog a smaller dose if it's small dog.

My puppy just passed away from Chronic Bronchitis 2 days ago at the age of 5....😔😔😔 We couldn't save her...My vet thought she had a kennel cough at first as she was showing no signs of breathing problems...The situation deteriorated and then we could not save her...It was too late... My dog never fainted though...And she was always an excited dog that jumps and runs around....But she never fainted...She had this cough and then it deteriorated very fast that we couldn't save her... She was coughing and vomiting yellow phlegm... She stopped eating, drinking and everything she would drink or eat, she would vomit them out anyways...
