I'll try to check some other sources you mention, but concerning 25:02 - do you seriously think that Musk's support of Trump on X was the most important thing that happened that day? Was there nothing else happening that could explain the trend, like the attempted assassination of a presidential candidate? As a Russian, I appreciate you being informed about some of the shit happening here better than a lot of the so-called journalists, but I disagree strongly with your last point: the wearing down is exactly political, and you just spent a chunk of your life on yet another conspiracy theory. I don't think Russian politicians invented post-truth (although it might have crystallized here more rapidly); it's a modern condition in which more and more people have to face what good scientists have faced for a long time: the world is hyper-complex and there is no final definitive truths. Concrete facts shift their meaning depending on the context (narrative), even if that narrative is composed of other concrete facts. For humans context is everything because we can never have the whole picture. Hell, whatever, I too love Baudrillard. Yours is still one of the best channels on youtube, love your passion and hope to still have a working VPN next year to continue watching your stuff.

I am a heavy user on X and I never saw this misinformation. Also X allowed a lot of lies back on the platform but they also allowed the truth. The truth can not be found on other platforms that are heavy handed with censorship. Hunter Biden laptop, covid lab leak etc.

== Summary == • Main Question: What percentage of political interactions on platforms like Twitter/X are bots? • Content Focus: The proliferation and use of bots in online political discourse, primarily influenced by Russian troll farms, and the post-truth era of misinformation. • Context: Postmodern politics and how Russia, influenced by figures like Vladislav Sercov, prioritized destabilizing truth through misinformation. • Russia's Tactics: 1. The use of troll farms like the Internet Research Agency (IRA) founded by Yevgeny Prigozhin. 2. Early troll farm tactics were regional, later expanding to influence global events like the 2016 U.S. elections. 3. Employees were paid minimally, faced high turnover, and were tasked with creating content including fake political discourse. 4. The Kremlin funded opposing groups to confuse Russia's political scene. 5. Sercov's strategy was to remove objectivity, making truth seemingly undefinable. • Expansion of Misinformation: 1. The IRA’s role in spreading content across Facebook and eventually affecting U.S. political events, like the 2016 election. 2. Bot tactics include inflaming both extremes of the political aisle (e.g., Black Lives Matter as well as far-right groups). 3. The goal isn’t making a country right-wing, but rather spreading confusion and keeping society divided. 4. Beginnings of involvement with Telegram and CSAM-related channels, which may tie into a darker side of the misinformation web. • Impact of Bots on Social Media (X/Twitter) Post-Elon Musk Acquisition: 1. Changes post-Musk’s 2022 Twitter acquisition (e.g., reinstating banned accounts, monetizing verification). 2. The decline of content moderation and dismantling of the anti-misinformation team. 3. A significant increase in bot content, especially related to political discourse. 4. Musk's connection to Vladimir Putin and their regular, secret contact raises concerns given his control of SpaceX. • Recent Developments (2023-2024): 1. Signs of algorithm manipulation favoring certain political figures (e.g., Trump). 2. Both Republicans and Democrats are targeted, with observable biases in how political content is shared or amplified, largely through automated systems. • Personal Observations: 1. The author experiences frustration and exhaustion due to the complexity and pervasive influence of bots. 2. A rise in apathy and misinformation makes it challenging to engage critically and effectively with political information online. • Final Thoughts: 1. The video ends with the conclusion that social media, particularly X, fosters an environment designed to confuse and wear down the public. 2. Benn Jordan expresses fatigue with tackling political topics and plans to avoid them in the future. • Sponsorship: 1. Ground News: An app that tracks political biases in news sources and helps identify credible information amidst misinformation. Proceeds go to support UNICEF’s Fund for Ukraine.

I hear this low sound as well. to me, it sounds like being inside a house when someone has bass music up loud in their car, but muffled from being inside a house. I always thought that's what I was hearing, because it's happened a few times that it was what was going on. but there was one time I mentioned it to my bf while it was happening, we were visiting his parents. He said he didn't hear what I was hearing

Great video. Something people fail to realize is that bots are not just there to change your mind. They're they're to boost accounts that give favorable coverage. They pay influencers through engagement. The influencer gets plausible deniability and a boost to their viewership/payout, the foreign actor gets a real human supporting their side. It's a shadow economy.

Great video, but given how many articles from Newsweek that I saw on Reddit that had very left-leaning and very sensationalist or otherwise misleading headlines, I find it almost laughable that Grounds News classifies that them as "Highly factuality" and "Center" leaning... And I say that as someone who exclusively votes blue. Are the labels intended to describe the publication, or simply the individual article?
