Flounders with the teeth are they edible
@CaptainZac3 күн бұрын
Hey @robertkeene9662 thanks for stopping by! These arrowtooth flounder aren't very good to eat - most people release them and keep the salmon, halibut, rockfish and cod instead! These flounder are very different than the east coast ones which are very tasty! Tight lines my friend! Captain Zac

Dang dude! How close are you runninf the cannon ball around the botrom? Rockfosh, halibut, and ling cod? Good on the table, but I would be really afraid of snagging a reef with my downrigger. We did that once in North Pass, and it was not good. I thought we were going to rip the boat apart. You are brave
@CaptainZac8 күн бұрын
Hey Alan thanks for stopping by and I can confidently say we fish all part of the water column! Sometimes we were trolling 20ft down, other times we were 5-10 feet from the bottom, and everywhere in between! We were constantly tinkering with the depth and location in search of schools of king salmon (and we found some bycatch along the way!). Sorry to hear about your gear snag up in North Pass! That must have be so frustrating! Thanks again and tight lines my friend! Captain Zac

Yeah, this exact setup. Except use a 3.0 blue scale Yakima Bait Spinfish, double hook just like that, 24" behind the 360 flasher. Stuff with tuna(packed in oil). You can add a hootchie below the Spinfish. I've got them on this. Give a try if you want.
@CaptainZac8 күн бұрын
Hey Steve thanks for stopping by and that sounds like a great setup! I've never tried packing a Spinfish with tuna (in oil) behind a 360 flasher but I may give it a shot this season! Thanks for the tip and I'll let you know how it goes! Tight lines my friend! Captain Zac

Good looking trout! Not a steelhead tho if it doesn’t go to the Ocean. Great Lake tributaries are just big trout.
@CaptainZac10 күн бұрын
Hey @SteelheadJohn thanks for stopping by and awesome screen name! You are right that these great lakes tributary fish are basically big trout but there is a whole industry and loyal regional following for "steelhead" fishing in these streams. Thanks again and tight lines my friend! Captain Zac
