Love your Videos. I grew up in Alaska and fished a lot. Your Videos bring back all those great memories. I have been to Juneau a few times and have some friends there. Would love to get back there and do some real fishing like you. I really appreciate your style and character. Well spoken and very informative, no bs just facts.

Nice hookup in the opening scene, Zac, but Mary stole the show. You’re decked out in a raincoat & life vest and she’s sporting a sun top!😂 You are blessed to have such a great companion!

Hey @Follower_of_The_Word thanks for watching and yes indeed Mary did a fantastic job here! I'm very fortunate to have such a great first mate! Haha yes I wear my rain suit most of the time to avoid getting covered in fish goo. Tight lines! Captain Zac

Alright! As someone who enjoys a good fire drill for Captain Controlled Chaos you guys just made the varsity team. Let the fish run and tucker out, hardware up and out of the way, second line back in boat, and where possible, bump into neutral. That was a master class on getting a fish into the box. Team work. Derby days are coming.
@CaptainZac3 ай бұрын
Hey Alan many thanks for the positive comment here! Yes indeed - there are a lot of moving parts when landing a salmon and we were fortunate that they all came together and this fish hit the net! Derby will be here soon! Thanks again and tight lines my friend! Captain Zac

Great video in all aspects. Action, informative. Mary is a talented mate. (Startled a bit when she climbed over the transom without her PFD.) Nice editing too. Framed well, including zooming, cut well, audio levels of narration and music perfect. Really felt like being there with you.

Hi Tim thanks for stopping by and I'm glad you enjoyed this king salmon action! How cool that you caught some nice King George whiting and southern calamari! What rod holders did you get to fit the Hewescraft rails? Luving the herring tips.
@CaptainZac3 ай бұрын
Hey @Cntrmass thanks for stopping by and I'm glad you enjoyed this king salmon action! I am using basic Scotty rod holders w/ rail mounts. Here is the rail mount: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001M4HT2U/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1. I initially tried the Orca rod holder model but found it to be cumbersome so I switched to a more basic model. Tight lines! Captain Zac

Hey Zach, how do you rig your P line squid behind your flasher without a fly Good catch
@CaptainZac3 ай бұрын
Hey Bradley thanks for watching and I'm glad you enjoyed this salmon action! Starting at the two hooks on the bottom, I run a bead or two (to separate the hooks from the base of the squid), then a tinsel skirt, then the hootchie. I explain this in more details in my salmon trolling tips video here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/mnTPqn6FZryabZo Thanks and tight lines! Captain Zac

Zac, so I assume you bleed the kings right away as all fish. Do you clean right away? As in get the entrails out? Ice ? Or just throw em in the box? Details my man details! Another primer for next week………

Hey @Cntrmass yes I do bleed the fish right away and then put it in my transom fish box (nice and cool in there). I fillet it right when I get back to the dock. Tight lines my friend! Captain Zac
