I have a 2007 Aprilia Tuono 1000R V2, bullet proof engine (other than stator), then got me looking into the newer gens like 1000V4 but later I discovered that they were plagued with drop valve issues and in the forum I see an agreement where you either buy a gen1 or gen2 or you jump into a 2021+ aprilia, which sucks specially when they are discounted on facebook. The gen2 started to go up in value for some crazy reason. Great video 1 and 2, looking forward to see video 3

I’m trying to rebuild the small little engine on my Honda XR 50 R any recommendations on things I should have prepped before I take it apart such as gaskets or special rings that may already be done. Do you have a link forany kits with fitting parts?

So I dropped the engine, and tbf it looked clean.. oil and no white sludge at the valves which when the headgasket goes is ussualy there. Only found white sludge in the crank breather. Could it be something else?

What is the piston ring clearances? I understand your already came preinstalled, but the service manual only mentions the compression ring (<0.40mm) and oil scraper (<0.80mm). The confusion is what is the second compression ring intended to be set to?

Ive been fighting this fight for years. Mice have immobilized my vehicles several times, and caused engine lights and other issues several times more. I've tried everything, scented oils, scented soaps, etc. The ONLY thing that works is a multifactor approach. REMOVE the food sources, and put poison in place. Glue traps, snap traps, and keep up with the regimen. Also make sure you turn your HVAC on recycle cabin air so it's harder for them to get into the passenger compartment. And YES you can thank the tree huggers, as the soy based plastics and wire coverings are an attractant.

Yeah I skipped one day of laying the glue traps down and I already see signs again.

i put everything together in the clutch pack the right way and when its all together the actuator arm isnt realy doing nothing to it ? as in puling the pack in and out ?
@GarageAddiction24 күн бұрын
The clutch line will push the rod, ball, and plunger moving the pressure plate off the clutch pack. The pressure plate does have an orientation that gets it to sit on the plates so you may need to rotate it on the basket.

I'm in Arizona, the oil works great for us. We just buy the essential oil and add it to a small spray bottle with water. If the vehicle lives outside, once a month should do it.

I was partnered with a guy in Kingman on a gold mining claim in the White Hills. We were driving back out out in his Toyota SR5 when the Alt light came on. We thought maybe a lose belt, but when we stopped and looked at it, an alternator wire had been chewed through. As I'm working on the splice, a mouse comes out of the hood and hops once on the battery and off into the desert. Not sure if that mouse was from Kingman or the White Hills. Hoping he knew the territory. A city mouse from Kingman probably wouldn't last long.

Add this to your rodent patrol kits. go to the Feed and Farm Supply store, and pick up some Python insecticide. do NOT open the box, until you have put on Nitrile gloves. that stuff will make us humans, sick, badly sick. put the tags in places you do not want Rodents, Generator, the cubby holes, stapled to the ground by the tires, Zip tied to the entrances under the frame, ... goodbye Yellow Jackets, Mud daubers, Insects, crawling insects, Rodents. I got the idea from a guy on KZbin who installs and maintains Automatic Gates... The control boxes would fill up with mice and insects and short out the controls. He happened onto these cattle tags, and no more problems.

I made custom engine mounts for it on the cradle, two tabs up front and a bracket in the rear.

After performing this, on my right front side I hear a clunky sound when I press the brakes, it doesn’t happen all the time I brake, but occurs randomly, what could it be?
@GarageAddictionАй бұрын
Hmm I would check a few things: the caliper mounting bolts, the pins to look for any grooves, check the wear on the rotor to see if it's even, and check the caliper pistons. One of the pistons may be sticking and causing the pad to hang up as well.
@atticuspunk182Ай бұрын
@ thanks for your answer!!Rotors, brake pads and hardware is brand new. Caliper mounting bolts are not loose at all and in good shape. I’m about to go out and lift the truck again to see what’s going on. How can I verify if the caliper pistons are the problem? And if they are, is there a way to fix them or do I need to replace the caliper ? Thanks again!!
@GarageAddictionАй бұрын
@@atticuspunk182 You can throw a piece of wood in the caliper and have someone hit the brakes, check and see if the pistons come out without hanging. I haven't looked into it but most likely there are rebuild kits for the calipers that have the seals. Usually it's just a bunch of old junk on the pistons that hangs them up.

My son is 10 and weighs about 30kgs. Just started doing Supermoto on his KX65. The rear shock is just way to soft and he is starting to lose the back end a lot as a result. Was thinking of doing this mod without spending crazy money on new springs and valving etc. Would the SV650 shock be too stiff for him ??
@GarageAddictionАй бұрын
I'm a solid 200 lbs without gear and it's pretty good for me, I would say it's probably too stiff for him but it's a fairly cheap and quick swap to try it out. Some zx6r shocks (2002 era I think) which can be rebuilt and have adjustments will also fit, you just need to cut a little section out of the seat. It does raise the rear of the bike up a touch though.

@GarageAddictionАй бұрын
I've got everything used listed in the description but I have to say I still have some confidence issues with the quickshifter and I'm not sure I'd recommend it based on the performance now that I've lived with it a bit longer. Going to give it another go to solve the issues but there might be a follow up video coming soon.

Hey boss do these have normal side to side play for the crank bearings? I notice a small gap in the cases to the main bearing. I'm able to slide it side to side .015 inch
@GarageAddictionАй бұрын
It's been a long time since I've been in this engine but my crank bearings were rock solid on the crank but slid into the cases too easily. While they shouldn't be moving I can absolutely see there being some play in a tired engine.

So it’s the 2nd gen shock that has close to identical length. Other forums were saying it gave it a “chopper” look. So I’m guessing they were referring to gen 1 SV650’s?
@GarageAddictionАй бұрын
Yeah that might be the case, I've only had gen 2 and zx6r shocks in the garage so I can't say for sure.
