1. Not a rip off at all. You can buy into this game with a full starter pack and ship for cheaper than a new triple A game. ($40-$50). 2. We support this project because of the tech and world they are building. People seem to forget that this is currently a developing alpha test, with new tech being built to allow them to actually make some in game features that would be impossible otherwise. They've aimed for the stars to bring us the most ambitions game ever made, by a country mile. Nothing else comes close. It feels empty due to scale right now, but there are over 700,000 entities in a fresh server in one star system. The emptiness will be addressed by Genesis and Starchitecht. You can google what these are if you are unsure or watch day 1 of this years citizen con. 3. This will do the complete opposite of damaging the gaming industry. In fact, maybe it will wake up some of these lacklustre studios to actually be brave to make something new and original with attention to the story and gameplay rather than just churning out another iteration of the same game they released the year before with a reskin and call it "new" and "quadrupole A". On top of this, some of the tech they have built and advancements on their engine is ground-breaking meaning other studios will absolutely look to this for their own games one day. 4. This game has been in development for 10+ years with the CIG employee count going from a handful of people to over 1000. They have achieved an incredible amount and we're probably about two thirds of the way through. To put that into context, Starfield was in the making for 10 years with a full studio behind it, an established engine and huge workforce... and that game was a generous 6/10 with lazy work arounds and the worst in ship combat I've seen in a space game. 5. In summary... let them cook and stop commenting unfounded nonsense on Star Citizen content. If you don't like it, don't watch it and don't play it. No one is forcing you. It's the size of a titan?? It just ditches the traditional way of storage with side ones, you get an engineering bay and a hab that's sick with the same storage as said titan, however the titan is dominant in load time and dps

Weapon size sure, SCU space just isn’t possible with the design and they’d have to make it bigger which wouldn’t improve it IMO

That gun increase in physical size really balances it out, I mean it should look big and imposing for being the center point of attention Side note it should have been a bespoke weapon that looks massive but have the dps between size 3 and 4 for balance reasons/pricing

No no, the thing is also that it is just ugly. Aside from that the design is illogical. Makes no sense. Crusader ships aren’t chunky like that. Asymmetric designs are already a big no in general when it comes to designing anything that will ever be flying through atmosphere at any speed. It’s not a fighter and doesn’t have a massive gun. And yes, it just looks ugly. So what exactly was the reasoning behind this? I doubt it was thought through much. Just wasted potential, especially considering the C1 and C2 exist as great examples of how to do crusader ships. Not sure what they were thinking with this.

For me, I could live with a single S3 if it wasn't so ugly to look at. The interior is really nice as well, but god is it an ugly, blocky lego ship. Feels like they made the external shape in Space Engineers and just ported it to SC.

It’s got the best interior for a starter IMO. But the Nomad probably trumps it in most areas still

ugly or not, it looks like its going to be the best starter ship hands down, the only thing is the guns and shields might be a bit weak but if youre doing bunkers who cares.
